Geo Sustento Well, I was thinking.
For PJO and HoO, the characters are demigods. And the gods have physical manifestations.
For KC, they are pharaohs and magicians. The gods here are spirits that inhabit a host.
What will the trend be in this new series. I think the characters will be like reincarnations of the Norse gods. Unlike other pantheons, Norse gods can die although, of course, they can live forever if they are not killed.

I know Magnus is Annabeth's cousin (there's a clue in Blood of Olympus). Perhaps he is a reincarnation of one of the gods?

Evan Galdeen The summary:
Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers.

One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he's never met - a man his mother claimed was dangerous. His uncle tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.

The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.

When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.

Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die...

Seems to indicate its demigods again. Which I'm happy about

Geo Sustento I'm a little doubtful about the plot here on goodreads. I mean, I checked Rick's blog and website and nowhere can I see a plot for this new series.
Don't you think that if there is already a plot, the first place where we can find it will be in his official pages?

Geo Sustento And because according to that plot, Magnus is a son of a "god" and according to the hint from Blood of Olympus (which Rick has mentioned on one of his interviews that he has included), Magnus is the son of Annabeth's father's brother. So unless Annabeth happened to be divine on both sides of the family, then I don't think that is the case.

But yes, perhaps this is another story about demigods.
Or even simple mortals being called upon for help by the Norse gods. They are, after all, known for their penchant for heroes. You know, Valhalla and stuff.

Heavs I think that summary is fake, I can’t find it anywhere else. Annabeth’s father was very much mortal in Percy Jackson and I’ll be annoyed if it’s retconned that he’s Norse god or a Norse demigod. It’s possible that they both fell in love with goddesses from different pantheons and that’s why the big falling out or they were both scholars who had arguments about which was best and co-incidentally ended up with different demigod kids.

It would be interesting if Magnus Chase was fully mortal though and not descended from gods or descended from people who possess gods, but I don’t think that’s very likely.

Raisa I never expected the demigod theme again in this series.
Since the Norse myths were depicted to be more violent, I had always thought Magnus was gonna be a mortal soldier serving the Norse gods to defeat a common enemy in a special organization (that is similar to the camps).

Evan Galdeen This is the summary that's EVERYWHERE now.

Serena In the The Crown of Ptolemy ebook there is a chapter of 'The Sword of Summer', and his mother is the sister of Annabeth's father, she has another brother (the uncle) that she tells Magnus to stay away from.

So his father is likely the Norse god, with Annabeth's so far unnamed aunt.
