Yeah, I’m not gonna bump this one. If it hasn’t gotten any hits in this long, my assumption is that I made this thing up in my own head, and it never really existed!

In this story, the main character is a man who dies and is sentenced to the second circle of Hell since his main sins were sex-related. The "punishment" was that people in that circle had their sex drives increased, but found the sexual act less satisfying than it had been during their lives.
At some point in the story he escapes from Hell and makes his way to Heaven, finding that he doesn't fit in there due to his Hell-adapted desires. I don't remember anything about how the book concluded.
I have the vaguest impression that the cover was mostly purple/dark blue, with classical-looking buildings.
Any help appreciated!
