Just finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and loved it. I fell in love with Hazel Grace and Augustus.
Breath, Eyes, Memory is a Humanities Coucil TALK group selection that I'm starting. It is short, so hopefully I will breeze through it. I'm wanting to work on getting more books that I own read and placed in Free Little Libraries.

There are so many people that absolutely love this book. I read it for the first time as an adult. If 1/2 of the people that say they love it I don't think we would have racial discrimination or look down on people with mental illness.

I have seen Gilead on a lot of reading lists, and bought a copy awhile back for a dollar. Time to get it read and out of the house!
I'm 62/247 pages because it is a slow read. It is an elderly minister writing to his 7 year old son. Not bad, but not something I would say is a must read.

I found a copy of A Stranger Is Watching the other day, and thought it would be good to have a fast paced read with the slow one. I think I may have read it before, but that was before goodreads.com and shelfari.com
Finally finished Gilead. It did become a bit more interesting, but it was a struggle for me to get through it. I'm wondering why it is a Pulitizer Prize winner. After reading another Pulitizer winner - The Goon Squad those may be a list of books to avoid.
Final book for the Fall Humanities council series isTypical American by Gish Jenn. I haven't had lot of time to read it because I wanted to finish Gilead, but it appears to be a quick read. I'm looking forward to it.
Typical American was okay, but felt like I was just being told a story. No feelings. No descriptions.
Granny Dan is a book sale find that is a quick and light read. Not a huge Danielle Steele fan, but there is always a bit of luxery for an escape.
Room is a read for a library book club. I think the back gives away what is going on. In about 20 pages and enjoying. Told by the perspective of a 5 year old boy.
