Celestia looked around with wide eyes. Tia, what have you gotten yourself into? She walked around for a good three minutes until she realized she was completely lost.

Darkmint sat by the river silently. He was fishing, and for some reason he liked to hunt alone, where no other cat could bother him. Darkmint liked to either be proud of doing it by himself, or have all the blame on him....fair and square. A salmon swam in front of him, and he waited....waited....and in one swift paw movement, Darkmint was clutching a squirming fish in his paw. He gave it the killing bite and dropped it to the side, where a trout and another salmon lay.

When Celestia saw Darkmint, she padded over to him and gently poked him on his shoulder.

He jumped up, then saw it was just another cat. Another cat... Then, smelling she wasn't a clan cat, he hissed, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"I'm Celestia. I left my twoleg home a couple hours ago, and I seem to have gotten lost," She looked down at her paws. "I'm looking for...it's one of those clans..." She closed her eyes and thought for a moment. "RiverClan! Yes, that's the one. Do you know where it is?" Please tell me this cat knows where RiverClan is...

"So you're a kittypet," Darkmint mused. "Yes, this is RiverClan. Why?"

Darkmint looked at her. "You do realize you're going to have trouble being accepted if you do this, right?"

"I know," Celestia nodded. "Clans do not like outsiders, especially kittypets... I'm willing to risk it, though. I want to prove the other cats that I am strong enough to join a Clan. I know I can do this and I know what I'm getting into. Trust me... Many cats have called me stupid, but I know more than they think,"

He nodded. "You know a lot. And you're right. The clans will not take kindly on a kittypet joining us. But if you have made your choice, I won't object. Come, let us go to camp."

"Yayz!" Celestia squealed happily, then tripped over a rock. "Ow," She stood up and squeaked in horror. Why? Because she had dirt in her fur! "Ew! Oh good Lord, this is terrible! Ew! The ground is on my pelt!"

Darkmint rolled his eyes at the pathetic cat. Heaving a sigh, he said, "It's just dirt."

"It's not just dirt!" Celeteia squeaked. "This is the stuff that made Brian give me bath! I hate bathes!"

He gave her a skeptical look. "You're gonna need to get over that if you join RiverClan."

"Give me a break, would'ja? I just left the only twoleg who has never tried to kill me. These eyes are a burden, y'know!" Celestia growled, which was not normal for her. She had been lost for way too long. She calmed herself down and asked, "Do you know where I could wash this off? I don't want to taste dirt... I'm not ready for that..."

Darkmint sighed and nodded. "Yeah...the river isn't too far from here."

"How far is "isn't too far"?" Celestia tipped her head slightly. "I don't think I can keep walking for much longer,"

Celestia touched the water the tip of her tiny paw, which was a slightly bigger than a new apprentice's paw. She padded in the water, then sat down when it reached her shoulders and purred softly for no reason.

Seeing her wade in the river, looking happy, Darkmint smiled crookedly. Maybe she'll be a good RiverClan cat after all...

Celestia looked down at the water, watching a fish swim past her. "Isn't it weird that fish don't blink?" She mewed randomly.

Darkmint blinked. "Well...yeah, I guess. I never really thought about it."

"When you have no friends and your twoleg is busy you begin to think about random things," Celestia padded out of the water and shook her pelt.

Darkmint took a step back. "Hey, I may be a RiverClan cat, but I don't feel like getting wet right now!"

Instantly, Darkmint felt he'd been too harsh and he stepped forward again. "Hey, I didn't mean it like that. It's fine."

Celestia looked at Darkmint with surprise. "You're not going to try to bully me or anything?" Then surprise turned into fear. What if he's just playing some kind of trick? Maybe he doesn't mean what he said... What if he's going to kill me? She slowly backed up and whimpered.

"No, of course not." Darkmint said, confused. "Why would I do that?" When she stepped away from him, he looked at her like, "What did I do?""

"Other kittypets corner me and either try to hurt me with words or claws. And if its with claws, Brian takes me to the vet," Celestia curled up into a tight ball, shivering. "The kittypets who bully me most are Fluffy and Fluffster,"

Darkmint growled, angry at the bullying kittypets. "Well, when you join RiverClan you can be almost 100% sure you won't get hurt by us. We are loyal to each other." He paused, honesty clear in his eyes. "I won't hurt you either."

Celestia stopped shivering, but she didn't get out of the position. "And if they don't treat me like you say they will?"

Celestia felt a rush of surprise again. "You're serious?"

"You're sure your brain is ok?" Celestia mewed. She just couldn't believe someone in cat form had promised to stand up for her. "It isn't damaged or anything?"

He tossed her a grin. "Of course!" Darkmint repeated.

A smile grew on Celestia's face and she jumped up rushed over to Darkmint's side to give his ear a swift lick. "Thank you!" She purred.

He blushed somewhat, the tips of his ears turning red. "It's...uh...fine." Darkmint mumbled.

Celestia laid down on her back beside him. "When do we go?" She asked cheerful.

"I already told you. It's Celestia," She mewed and rolled onto her paws. "Let's go!" She squeaked happily.

Being the observant kitty she was, Celestia randomly looked around and when she spotted a heron, she freaked out. She squeaked and jumped into the closest bush.

Darkmint sighed again. "What is it n-" He turned toward where Celestia was moments ago, and saw a heron. "Oh, great. Just what we need, another predator." He glanced toward where he assumed Celestia had hidden. "Stay there."

"Duh," Celestia curled up in the bush and shivered. "I'm not getting out of this thing until the bird is gone!" She whispered, mostly to herself.
