Right. I thought when the book was advertised on NetGalley's site with the cover, it would automatically all transfer. Bit disappointing. Thank you for the info.
Forget Me Not by Stacy WillinghamStacy Willingham is a brilliant up upcoming psychological thriller. Here's my 5* review. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Once a Villain by Vanessa Len
is a good conclusion to the series.3 Stars

The Heretic Cypher
4 STARS ARC NETGALLEY
exciting start to Murray Bailey’s Egyptian Stones, centering on Alex MacLure

A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
Not as good as her debut adult cozy fantasy, but a nice entertainer nonetheless.

Song of the Hell Witch by Taylor Hartley
was ok but predictable. I thought it was a standalone, but nope, it's the first of the series. But I don't know if I'll read the next.3 Stars

The Midwizard of Cosconia by Zack Schoppen
was ok. Not quite cozy, but not quite adventure. 2 Stars

The Children of the Roses
3.5 stars. Read as a #NetGalley #ARC
Sequel to the fabulous
sobering and strangely tender.

Send Flowers by Emily Buchanan
Looks like a love story, and it is one. Not of the regular kind but the creepy kind. Mixed opinion.

Streetlights in the Dark by Alex Hall
An amazing His-Fic short story, a beautifully Haunting Masterpiece.
My reviews : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I Killed the King by Rebecca Mix, Andrea Hanna
was ok, but the six POVs made it an overwhelming task to keep them all straight. Worse was the lack of beasts and magic claimed in the blurb.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
What We Can Know by Ian McEwan
read like an autobiography/biography instead of a science fiction/fantasy it was claimed to be. Blurb very misleading!DNF 23%

Moonsick by Tom O'Donnell
was a good story with some interesting gore. I liked it. 3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Illusions of Fire by Nisha Sharma
was a good YA fantasy. 3 Stars

Kiss Her Goodbye
3.5 stars for me.
I read this book as a free review copy from #NetGalley #thriller
tense and emotional read

Currently: The Merge by Grace Walker. Dystopian future set in London. It starts a little dry, but is now picking up. The concept is wild & creepy.
How to Defeat a Demon King in Ten Easy Steps by Andrew Rowe
was an entertaining read, but it did remind me of a 'walk-through' during the first half.3 Stars

I am a card-carrying fan of Mick Herron's Slow Horses series, and the latest instalment, Clown Town, is terrific! He's such a good writer. This one has real spies, failed spies, and blackmailing pensioner spies.
My review of Clown Town
Here's one for your Christmas shopping list. (Sorry if that's triggering for anyone.) The Twelve Days of Christmas Dogs: The Classic Edition by Amanda Sobotka is beautifully illustrated by Chris Dunn. Any dog lover would enjoy browsing through this one, with or without children.
My review of The Twelve Days of Christmas Dogs with several of the illustrations
Deadly Mistake
3.5 stars
Read as an ARC from #NetGalley
fast high stake thriller
My review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Match Made in Hell by Charlotte Ingham
started off good, almost cozy, but then they had to add an adult scene... a descriptive one... and this book is listed as Teen/YA. This negligence cost it a star, and makes it seem as if they want to give fuel to the book-banning fire.

Wandering Souls by Cecile Pin
An OwnVoices historical fiction about a Vietnamese family post the war. Didn't work that well for me, but mine is an outlier opinion.

So far, I've enjoyed everything I've read by Aussie author Michael Robotham. For many years, he was a journalist in London, a place he knows well, where The White Crow is set. I like the premise of the daughter of a gangster being a young detective. Of course, Philomena's always suspected by both sides of leaking information, but Robotham makes it work.
My review of The White Crow
A Terribly Nasty Business by Julia Seales
A historical cosy mystery. Didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, which had been an Austen parody.

Queen Demon by Martha Wells
complete let down! Won't be continuing with this series.2 Stars

Getting ready to start Hazelthorn by CG Drews and The Haunting of Paynes Hollow by Kelley Armstrong for Spooky Season!
Nesting by Roisín O’Donnell
An Irish literary fiction, this has one of the best portrayals of an abusive relationship. Excellent for a debut work.

Spellcaster by Jaymin Eve
was a good story. A lot of H.P. vibes, but NOT suitable for readers under 18. I listened to the audio, and while the female was great, the male spoke too softly for the male MC. I had a hard time hearing what he was saying, but was fine with the other male mcs.4 Stars

The Ordeals by Rachel Greenlaw
was an ok story, H.P. and H. Games similarities, but sadly not that memorable. Low 3 Stars

Wild for Austen: A Rebellious, Subversive, and Untamed Jane by Devoney Looser
An interesting nonfiction for Jane Austen fans. One of the many Austen books coming out this year for her 250th birth anniversary.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
For No Mortal Creature by Keshe Chow
wasn't too bad of a read, but it could use some more depth and descriptions... And the cover is cooler than the story... a little misleading.A low

What Remains After a Fire: Stories by Kanza Javed
This is, by far, the best short story collection I have read in a long time, OwnVoices or otherwise.

Hi. Again not sure where to post this but can anyone tell me are you allowed download NetGalley books from both the English and American sites? I'm in Ireland.
The Many Misfortunes of Eugenia Wang by Stan Yan
This middle-grade graphic novel turned out to be a stereotypical mess. Then again, I seem to be the only one who felt this way.

Vesselless by Cortney L. Winn
was ok, but moved slow and didn't have a lot of details about the world or magic.2 Stars

Aussie author Sulari Gentill's Five Found Dead is an entertaining homage to Agatha Christie's famous Murder on the Orient Express - with different twists. 😊
My review of Five Found Dead
Children's book Streetlights in the Dark, is a simplified World War Two escape story about two little kids running and hiding from the Nazis one night. I have summarised the story to give a sense of how the subject is handled. It's out in January.
My review of Streetlights in the Dark with some illustrations
I'm currently reading Wreck by Catherine Newman.I very recently finished Natural Disaster by Lisa Owens which I ADORED! Here is a link to my review if anyone wants to have a read: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Not all ARCS come with covers. It depends on how the publisher has created the file. About half of my ARCs have the NetGalley default cover instead of the actual one.
