If you have challenge related questions that you'd rather post here than on the general Q&A at Game Night, post them here. I'll follow this thread for timely responses.

Thanks!

message 2: by Leslie Ann (new)

Leslie Ann I haven't played this particular game. Do I read a book that matches a letter in the spell out and has a multiplier or is an either or situation?

message 3: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
You can read a book(s) and use the books you read for wherever you and your team thinks it should be used for. If it doesn't work for a .04 or .03 multiplier, your team should try to use it as one of the letters in a spellout for the .02 multiplier.

If your team doesn't finish a spell out word/phrase, it still can get points at the .01 multiplier.

All books used in challenge must meet the Standard Book Requirements of the Game Night Group

message 4: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Only use book once and only needs to meet the task you use it for. All tasks repeatable.

Spell out words/phrases only repeatable once all have been completed.

Pam from Maine I am up for anything as I have not played this before. I can't find the poll but would be happy to vote if someone can point me in the right direction.

Over on the right side there are 3 columns of link. 2nd to last is Polls. The current poll will be there.

message 10: by Joanne (new)

Joanne I was trying to get rid of some blank rows on the spreadsheet from books moved to the spell-out and it screwed up some of the formulas. Can you take a look? Rows 39-41 in the B1 tab. Sorry and thanks.

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Should be fixed . . . thanks!

message 12: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Thanks Sandi!

message 13: by Cinthia (new)

Cinthia (cinthiah) In this book Inconvenient Wife, the default edition appears to be the audiobook version, and it lists 300 pages. Is that the edition I use, or do I go with the next one, which is the kindle version that lists 259? So strange that the numbers are so different.

message 14: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
no, don't use the page count if it's an audio edition. Look under the "All editions" for the first print or ebook edition with a page count and use it.

259 pp for that one.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case, since it makes a huge difference point wise. ;)

message 16: by Susan A (new)

Susan A The Dreadful Debutante - does this word for #1 in series? IT is listed as #16 Regency Royal at the top of the page, and #1 Royal Ambitions above the list of editions

message 17: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
yes, that'll work.

message 18: by Pam from Maine (new)

Pam from Maine Hi Sandi, Not sure what I am doing wrong but twice I have added my books read to our spread sheet and when I go back to look they are not there. Can you help? Maybe I should post somewhere else?

message 19: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Are they being moved to where they may better fit? I know I get various emails throughout the day where Joanne has added a comment to advise the book will be moved.

Otherwise, you may be leaving the spreadsheet too soon. Make sure it says "changes saved to drive" (or something similar. If you exit too quickly, it might not save your changes.

message 20: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
I found two for you . . . both under GOYDER CHANNEL spellout

Joanne Pam from Maine wrote: "Hi Sandi, Not sure what I am doing wrong but twice I have added my books read to our spread sheet and when I go back to look they are not there. Can you help? Maybe I should post somewhere else?"

Hi Pam, sorry about that. Those books were originally under the B1 spreadsheet with the comment spell-out or doesn't fit or something so they were moved to the spell-out when they were marked finished. I've been trying not to move books until people mark the finished date so they don't have to go hunting for them to add the date.

message 26: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Ooops Sandi, didn't realize you got an email every time I made a comment. That sounds annoying.

message 27: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
No, no worries Joanne. I can just delete them. It's an email address that is rarely used for much so just watching it to approve spreadsheet access requests.

message 28: by Susan A (new)

Susan A I have a question about pink covers.

This is the default edition of
Wickedest Witch by Eve Langlais

but this is the audible version I would listen to
Wickedest Witch by Eve Langlais

Can I use this for pink cover? (According to tineye, the cover is mostly magenta which I think is pink...but please tell me if that's wrong)

message 29: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
you'll want to use the edition you read, but that gives off a purple vibe to me, so I'd say no. Sorry.

message 30: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Actually, change my mind. pink enough.

message 31: by Susan A (new)

Susan A Is this a pink cover? Or does the man take up too much space?
Loving in the Light by Alexandria Bishop

message 32: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
He does take up a lot of space, but I'll okay it.

message 33: by Thereadingbell (last edited Sep 04, 2019 10:00PM) (new)

Thereadingbell Innocent in Las Vegas A Humorous Tiffany Black Mystery by A. R. Winters this is the book cover I have and this book is 217 pages even Amazon has it at that but the top version is a kindle version of 200 pages. 200 Pages is not accurate. So do i use the 217 or 200 pages. Also the books cover is the one with the cupcake that I am posting. I should tell you that i have kindle version and audio version both same cover as the one shown.

message 34: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
You use the default edition. If you think it is wrong, you might have a librarian look at it. I updated this to the 217 pp

Joanne Hey Sandi, it looks like there are some problems in the points column for the spell-out of Lake Eyre, if you could take a look.

From what I can gather it affects likes 8, 21, and 27 for sure.

message 37: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
should be fixed

message 38: by Maria Jo (new)

Maria Jo Would these be considered gold?

Lord Peter Views the Body (Lord Peter Wimsey, #4) by Dorothy L. Sayers Three Act Tragedy (Hercule Poirot, #11) by Agatha Christie

message 39: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Yes, they both would work

message 40: by Susan A (new)

Susan A What is the re-read rule?

I am assuming I can't re-read within the challenge itself. But, can I re-read a book I last read in July 2019?

message 41: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Barnes | 300 comments Mod
Absolutely! Any reread is okay outside of being duplicated in the challenge.

message 42: by Critterbee❇ (new)
