What is the one book that you will keep forever? The one that you will never be parted from? Say if the world was about to end but you had a ticket out of here to safety but there was only room for you to take one book what would it be? (obviously all friends, family and pets would also have a ticket, I'm not nasty:))

Wow, that's a hard question. There's so many books I love. I'd go with Acheron and then cross my fingers I could find a copy of Styxx. ;)
I'd have to take my copy of Trembling of a Leaf by W. Somerset Maugham. It's not really my genre but the book has so many memories attached to it. It was the last thing my granddad gave to me before he died, and when I open it, it smells of him and his cigars. It also has some fantastic prose in it, such as when he compares the Pacific to the soul of a man - beautiful, vivid and poetic imagery.
Omg, you're a terrible person to ever think of such a scenario! Buuuuuuut, if this were the case, I'd most likely grab my signed copy of Something Witchy This Way Comes. I love that book, plus I hold it close to me :)
I need to read the Anne Rice novels and Something Witchy this way comes, looks good too. Have to give them a try :)
they will always hold a special place in my heart. they were my comfort blanket during my teenage years.
I'd have to bring my Complete Works of William Shakespeare. It's in a single, massive, doorstopper of a hardcover, complete with sonnets, and not only could I read it, but I could gather my friends to act out plays from it and use them as teaching mechanisms to help rebuild civilization. Besides ... with all those witches, ghosts, and fairies, there's plenty of paranormal goodness to go around :-)
Such a hard choice! Hmmm.. I would have to choose either Wait for You or Something Witchy This Way Comes. I love them both so much!
I know that this may seem strange to some, but, the book that would go with me is Brighty of the Grand Canyon by Marguerite Henry. My Mother bought if for me when I was 6 years old and still have it(with original book cover)don't know how I have managed to keep it in such good condition but I have so it would have to be the one that went with me.My first book..
Summer Knight and Fool Moon both jim butcher both are signed first edtions.
