JJ (au_hepburn) | 3 comments I have just finished reading Chapters 1 and 2 of this book.

The following quote in Chapter 1 resonated with me:

"Buddhism was developed as a teaching path, rather than a religion."

Why do I love the idea of Buddhism?

It is because each teaching gives me guiding principle how to lead a happy life.

I have worked for a buddhist school for more than a decade, which makes me secure and lifts my spirit to be a better person. In our school, our students learn the Buddhism thought every week, which seems to keep them into peace.

I can't wait to keep on reading the following chapters!

Thanks for sharing Hepburn! I'll add that to our Reader's Guide (available here and on our blog at http://www.parallax.org/blog/category...)

What Buddhist school is it, if I may ask? I've never heard of such a thing and am very curious.

Oh wonderful! I visited Higashi Honganji when I was in Kyoto 2 or 3 years ago (I also of course visited Todaiji, and was completely awestruck by the size of the temple and the Daibutsu there)!
