2015 A-Z Book Challenge

This one was a suggestion in the boards, and it really seems like an awesome idea. Keep in mind that it starts in January, so you still have plenty of time to pick out what you'll want to read for next year.

You'll have an entire calender year to complete the 2015 A-Z Book Challenge.

The goal is to read twenty-six (26) books, each starting with a different letter of the alphabet.

✩ Be sure to use a specific shelf for this challenge so the books count.
Ex. "A-Z 2015"
✩ You can ignore articles like "A," "An," and "The" at the beginning of the book title.
✩ For the letter "X", any book title with the letter X in it will be acceptable.
✩ You can read the books in any order.
✩ Feel free to join the challenge anytime during the year. You can backdate books as long as they were read in the year 2015. Hint - Be sure to set the date that you read the book just like you do on the yearly Goodreads Challenge.

There may or may not be a prize for the winner of the challenge. It depends on our budgets.

End Date: December 31, 2015

I'm glad you're excited for it, Daisy. One of our members, Tommy suggested it, and I've always wanted to do one so it seemed like a fun idea.

I don't think the actual challenge will let people sign up until January 1, so keep an eye out for that. :)

And I actually just copy and pasted them. You can do a Google search for text-friendly bullets and find so many. :)

It's exciting. I've never participated in one before, and it was too late in the year when Angie created the group to get one started, so now seemed like the perfect time to get everyone ready for it.

We can't wait to see what books you're going to read for the challenge! :)

You can make your shelf now, but the challenge won't be active until January 1, so you won't be able to join just yet. I don't know why Goodreads does that. lol

I made my shelf, but I haven't added anything to it yet. I'll wait until later this year when I see what I didn't get to. Plus I know I'll be reading a few that are coming out next year.

No. You don't have to read them in alphabetical order. And there is a challenge section on the homepage. It will open on January 1. As long as you provide the name of your shelf, it'll keep track of the number of books you've read. I'll set up another folder for progress if we need it, but you can also keep track here by crossing out the books you've read or pasting a check mark beside them.
