I read this book quite a while ago, it was about a woman who had a husband and children and they went to some strangers house for a visit, I can't remember why, and the stranger turned her into a vampire. The book goes on to follow her throughout the years until more modern times. I remember a scene of her in the 60's or 70's partying and doing drugs with her boyfriend or husband, and another scene from more modern times about her working at a restaurant. She gets set up on a date with a guy and this guy finds out she's a vampire and traps her in some kind of magic for some reason.

Another detail about the book is the vampires can turn into bats and that's how Mina was getting to and from her restaurant job.
Was it a re-imagining of Dracula, or is the character's name coincidental/a nod to the classic? (The name of the main character's fiancée in Stoker's book.)
I'm not actually sure whether it was a re-imagining of Dracula though I don't think it was. it was set LONG before Dracula was set, like before the time that Christ was supposed to have lived.
I do remember a passage in the book about her having lived during the time of Christ and hearing of the amazing things he did but never having met him, if that's at all helpful.
Unfortunately no, but that one looks rather interesting. The book starts way back in the past before the main character is turned into a vampire, it's written chronologically like you're actually living it with the character.
