Hi,Can you please verify for Romance:
Also, for author, option 1:
Lynda La Plante born Lynda Titchmarsh.
Will it work?
Thanks
Pia wrote: "Hi,Can you please verify for Romance:"
A three of Romance books are approved.
However, Lynda La Plante will not work for Option 1 because that is her legal married name and it is what her books are published under. A pen name hides an author's identity by being completely different than their real names, past or present.

Got it. Thanks!
Option One: Are only single authors allowed or can it be a writing team writing under a unique name? An example would be Design for Dying, written by a husband/wife team. Thank you.

Will Iain M. Banks by acceptable as an alias for Iain Banks??? It's slight, but was a deliberate choice he made between his genre and mainstream writing. And what about pseudonyms for two-person writer combos? e.g. Ilona Andrews / P.J. Tracy / Christina Lauren
Cat wrote: "Will Iain M. Banks by acceptable as an alias for Iain Banks??? It's slight, but was a deliberate choice he made between his genre and mainstream writing. All 4 authors mentioned are approved.
Iain M. Banks doesn't have a middle name listed anywhere, and both his GR profile and Wikipedia consider it a pseudonym. Just to clarify - if we knew his middle name started with an M but he just didn't use it previously, it would not count because that would be his "real" name.
Although no one has asked about her yet, I'll add JK Rowling to the approved list for the same reason as above. She doesn't have a middle name so adding a K technically makes it a pseudonym.
All writing teams which combine parts of their names, or make up a new name all together, count as pseudonyms.
Aprilleigh wrote: "Good question - I have one that's a silhouette of a crumbling building -
"Approved. It just barely looks like buildings, but I'll count it.
Would M. Robinson count as a pseudonym? Her real name is Monica Robinson. I only know this because I am a blogger and have been reading her for years.
Thank you,
Can you approve Rayne & Delilah's Midnite Matinee for option 3? Romance is currently last on the genre list. For option 4, will the drawing of a building in the middle of the cover work:

Both are approved.
Can I see if this one would work for Option 1?
Vince FlynnIt's a weird situation where a different author is writing under the original author's name.
Thanks!

Sorry, this is not approved. The Goodreads page for the book lists Vince Flynn as the Series Creator and Kyle Mills as the Author, which doesn't appear to be a pen name.
If the Goodreads page only had Flynn listed or it was being ghostwritten by an anonymous author, then it would have counted.

Looking to see if this will work for a pen name/aliasM. Never is an alias for Marissa Carmel
There is this old post about it:

and Strip Me Bare was published under Marissa but republished under M. Never Strip Me Bare
Thank you.

I cannot seem to find the rules on minimum page numbers. For Option 2 I have Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card for the year 1985. but it has only 226 pages.
Do I need more pages or what? I have looked through the rules for pages number - minimums, but I must be missing something. If this book doesn't have enough pages, I can look for another.
Thanks!
The standard rule for page numbers is a book must have at least 100 pages unless otherwise stated in the task. I haven't set a page limit for this task so the 100 page rule stays as it it.Ender's Game is approved.
Would this work for building on the cover - to me it looks like a building with two garage doors - and it is upside down
Thank you.

Can I have Christina Lauren approved as a pseudonym? It is a writing team of two women who write under the shared name Christina Lauren.

When I think of Damsels in Distress, I immediately think of Princess Peach from Nintendo's video games. Help Mario save the princess by reading two books which follow the SRC Rules using the options below.
This is a two book task. Choose two options and read one book for each.
Required: State which options you choose when you post.
Option 1: Although she has always been known as Princess Peach in Japan, she first appeared in America under the name Princess Toadstool. Read a book written by an author using a pen name or alias.
REQUIRED: If the book's main page author listing does not include both the pseudonym and the real name, you must include a reference when you post.
Examples:
The Long Walk by Richard Bachman (Real Name Stephen King)
The Mister by E.L. James (Real Name Erika Leonard - see wikipedia)
City of Bones Cassandra Clare (Real Name Judith Rumelt - see wikipedia )
Option 2: Princess Peach appeared in her first video game in 1985. Read a book originally published in 1985.
Examples:
The Handmaid's Tale, The Cider House Rules, Death of a Gossip
Option 3: Mario and Peach are a classic video game couple. Read a book with Romance as a MPG.
Examples:
Pride and Prejudice, The Fault in Our Stars, Outfox
Option 4: The princess is in another castle! Read a book with a building on the cover.
Examples:
REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post.
