It is a series of books, based in america during and after a Zombie out break, focuses on an american airforce pilot.

In the early stages of the first book it focuses on the out break, how it unfolds for him, what he does at home to prepare, the last few missions he flies, then when he decides not to report for duty and stays silent at home.

He cements broken glass on to the wall in his back yard. Uses a webcam from his old laptop to monitor outside his house.

After the outbreak a neighbor slingshots a radio to him over the street.

They hide in an Air traffic control tower, having to parachute from it to escape a zombie horde.

They both find a plane and escape, before their city is nuked.

They land at an airfield to re-fuel, finding some people on a water tower.

There are other people they meet, i think there is a boat and a bunker later on.
