None that I see in the Kindle version. Any of his references are usually in the body where he names an author and book title or speaker and speech given
After finishing the book (particularly with that last story), my opinion is that the stats and facts are easy to find if one searches. I'm thinking of researching some of these things myself too.
I have to apologize. I was wrong about notes. There is a note section at the end of the book. They are set up by chapter. What threw me off is there are no footnotes to connect the note to the text in the book itself

Do the notes relates to studies and facts?

From what I can see the notes do then link to articles and sources where his information is derived.

Yes, it seems white's have made a lot of assumptions based on physical appearance over character. As sung in Beauty and the Beast We don't really like what we don't understand.
Have you ever made a snap judgment on someone based on physical appearance. I know I have more often than I like to admit. Like the author the threat was in my head only.
He does make a few comments (unarmed black bodies are more likely to be killed than white bodies on p 72 or stats about prison populations that are alarming.) I would like to see source data. He speaks of researchers finding a strong connection between unemployment and violence than race and violence. I do not doubt it. I would like to see research that addresses both assumptions
I am more concerned thee days that the general population accepts something as true because a leader or expert said it but had no data. To often I see people who know what they believe and do not want to be confused with the facts.
I resonate with so much he is saying and have been guilty of racist tendencies way to often.
