What does it take to survive?

If you were stranded in the woods without any electronic devises, what key items would you need to survive? Try to think about your basic needs, such as food, shelter, and your mental wellbeing.

If I could only have 1 item, I would choose some kind of water purification system or tablets. You can last a long time if you have water.

A couple key items for me would be: something I could use to start a fire, something to purify water, and a knife that can be used as a weapon for safety or something handy to cut things.

Reading this book made me also think a lot about how you need more than just food, water, and shelter to survive. I think sometimes we take for granted just how social we are, and how much we need other people for our mental wellbeing.
