Aquiles Olguin | 6 comments Book is at least 20 years old SCI-FI about an alien stranded on Earth . It looks like a Yeti or Sasquatch but has a computer mind . A human merges with a computer to save his/her life and becomes the aliens companion.

Anything about the cover?
Remember any other characters, villains, sidekicks, etc?
Part of a series?

Peter Meilinger | 469 comments The only cyborg alien bigfoot I'm aware of was the one masterfully portrayed by Andre The Giant on The Six Million Dollar man. He should have been awarded an Oscar for that role, despite the fact that it was a TV show instead of a movie. It's all politics.

But I digress. There were definitely novelizations of the TV show, so it's possible you're thinking of one of those. The bit about a human becoming the sasquatch's companion doesn't sound like it fits, though.

They did novelize the Big Foot show from Six Million Dollar Man--unfortunately my books are all messed up, and many still packed in boxes, so I can't go check the title for it.

Aerulan | 1317 comments The Tery by F. Paul Wilson has a Sasquatch looking alien in it from what I recall. Though I'm really fuzzy on the other details so I can't say if the rest fits or not.

Aquiles Olguin | 6 comments I wish I could remember more about it , I believe it ends with a central character being injured or dying and the bigfoot/sasquatch help the character to combine with a computer to become a cyborg like itself , they then both return to space. I do not believe it was a teens book , I was a pretty advanced reader and did not really read teen books . Years later I still cannot find it .

Did you rule out "The Tery"?

Aquiles Olguin | 6 comments Unfortunetly yes not "The Tery " but I am looking forward to reading it now :) Oh the book takes place in the mountains if that helps any , I remember one passage in the book where the creature is trying to escape the hunters and uses some kind of magnetic waves to glide across a lake or river .

Aquiles, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

SamSpayedPI | 2306 comments The Six Million Dollar Man: The Secret of Bigfoot Pass was the novelization of the Six Million Dollar Man episode, which was what immediately sprung to my mind (as well as Peter's, Message 3) on reading the original post.

Aquiles, did the alien (yeti/sasquatch) recently crash in the mountains? Was s/he alone in a spaceship? Injured? His/her mission?

Can you describe the person/people who found the alien - genders, ages, jobs/skills, etc.? What were they doing in the mountains?

I opened this discussion thinking I'd like to read this book, hoping it had been identified. Now I just want to see this episode!
