The epic love triangle question: Team Soap or Team Felix? I just can't decide.

What say you?

I say Soap! =)
He just seems to be so much better suited. Felix may know all the tricks when comes to courting, but Soap just has that little something that will always make me lean towards him as a possible "romantic interest". He just so easily accepts whatever craziness Sophronia comes up with and goes with it.
Plus: the chimney scene at the hive house was simply amazing.

I love that scene too. It's felt like a vaudeville/improv scene with so much madness happening at once but all the people who know what's happening are completely in sync. It was hilarious.

Don't discount Felix just yet. I mean, he did act immediately and bring his Dad to the Hive house for Sophronia too. And he does have a knack for coming to her rescue as well.

I think that's why I'm having a hard time picking a team. They are both so well suited.

True, he did that but I still question his motive. He just does not seem to be one to join any adventure without questioning the purpose or outcome. I always feel like he has his own agenda. That is probably because of his upbringing and education. Maybe he will come around... We will see.

And maybe I just want Sophronia to shock everyone by choosing the sootie over the Lord. The romantic in me just wants that little extra of breaking the rules like that. ;)

I think he does have his own agenda but so does Sophronia so maybe that isn't a bad thing. I think Felix just needs to expand his worldview a bit. See that there's more to the class lines and the supernaturals than he has been taught to believe. I like the idea of Sophronia marrying well (Felix) as sort of a jab at Monique and Preshea but I also love the idea of her taking Akeldama as a wealthy patron and being able to retain Soap as her 'companion'. That would be scandalous but not quite so much as to level Britain.

I love a bit of rule-breaking too. I've started reading W&W but I can't wait to see what new developments happen with this little love triangle.

Although I like Soap, I really can't see him with Sophronia. Maybe I'm too hung up on how 19th century Britain view the other races. I'm not finished with Book 2, C&C, but it seems that Felix is her equal. Mentally. So I might be Team Felix. Need to finish book 2 and read book 3.
