I have really enjoyed this one! O have read the original Spanish and the writing is simple but fantastic, I hope it translated well into English. This is mainly a book about grief in its many forms and I think the story worked very well. I will be following the author for sure.

Amelia (sophron) | 17 comments Now I've found out that this isn't a short story collectioneither, but a special form of a novel. The time structure confused me a bit and it took me a while to get into the who-is-who of the novel, but now I'm quite used to it and I enjoy the tone of it. I would say the main topic is grief and I like the different perspectives on it.

Britta Böhler | 51 comments I'm sorry to say but this was just not for me. I liked some of the characters and their stories but as a whole, it just didn't really capture my interest. Glad I read it, though, as I havent read much Mexican literature.

Amelia (sophron) | 17 comments I quite enjoyed it, even if the structure of it made it a bit hard to follow. But I liked the child/teen protagonists in it, maybe I would have preferred a whole story about them instead. I was the most interested in their stories.

I thought this was just about ok. It just did not manage to keep my attention enough to pull me in, I seem to have had a few books like this recently: some brilliant moments, a couple of characters I found interesting and wanted more of, but overall just not really working for me.

Ann Rahfeldt | 6 comments I too thought it was interesting but got confused by the moving timelines. Now I sort of understand it but I still left it kind of confused.

Marie (marieemonaghan) | 59 comments I’ve just DNF this after 100 pages as it just wasn’t engaging me.
