Patrick please people, do not read this book, and if you have, don't give it a good reading. It's a fictional mockery of a man's life and seeks to destroy the message of what the "enlightenment" of eastern philosophy really means.

I mean, it's wonderful to pick up a book and read a fake story about a real man, with fictional characters introduced so the piece can be engaging to every Tom, Dick, and Susie, who have ever been in love, but this book is really bad. First of all, the writing isn't that good and the story is always sub par. The thing that kills me is that Chopra presents an image of Buddha as a superhuman man that can do things that others can't. That is the opposite of Buddhism. Buddhism is based on the idea that every person can release themselves for the cycles of rebirth and their entrapment in Samsara.
