I'm about halfway through Randall Munroe's What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions. I'm reading through the library's Axis 360 e-book platform. It's a silly, entertaining book that answers odd questions like, "What if someone made a real-life periodic table of elements?" and "What if everyone on earth gathered in the same spot and jumped up and down at the same time?" The author has a web site (http://xkcd.com) in which people ask him such questions, and most questions are gleaned from that web site. This book would be a great read for a curious student or just a curious person in general.
