2nd to None (Team 2)
2nd roll statusThere are 6, 5 of them unassigned.( task 3, 11, 14, 20, 35)
Choices:
Debra?
Esther :14, 20, 35
Kazen? 11, 14, 35
KimeyDiann?
Kirila: 20, 35
I can do 11, 14, or 35 - thanks for keeping us all straight, Ester! (Well, I could do 20 too, but after taking the first one I would feel bad about grabbing a second!)Emily - if you're not a romance reader I'll gladly take that task off your hands. You would get my first task, #20 - a book of your choice. :)
The task for 19 is a vampire or werewolf book. I am happy to read that if that's what you need me to do... I'm actually happy to read whatever helps the team.
Annette, you can't read your first throw. Somebody else has to. But I am sure somebody will pick it up. Ideally, you, Sam and Emily can combine to take each other's picks.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh... slept late. So a quicky...
First roll status
Annette, Sam, Emily. You need to pick a task. Either take each other or swap with one already assigned. Emily, Kazen offered to trade. Annette, I can trade with you if you want.

We need ideas for task 3!
The spreadsheet is up to date.
I just rolled a 38 for my second roll. I think that takes me to 33, which is a punk thing. Somebody tell me what to do next; there are too many messages here for me to follow.
Hi Thing Two!Yes that throw takes you to 33. You need to post in the questions thread for jmom to draw your lucky card. Depending on it, we see what happens next :)
Debra wrote: "KimeyDiann, you are a doll! I would love to swap our first roll choices. You get 15 and I get 4.Esther, can you make this swap for us on the spreadsheet? Thanks loads!"
Glad to help. I don't have a lot of horror books on my TBR right now (or, I might, and just don't realize it lol), but I'm already planning on reading a book with space travel this month so that should work out perfectly!
Kazen wrote: "I can do 11, 14, or 35 - thanks for keeping us all straight, Ester! (Well, I could do 20 too, but after taking the first one I would feel bad about grabbing a second!)Emily - if you're not a rom..."
Hi Kazen - I accept your trade. I don't think that I'm allowed to read my first task anyways.
I'm up for 14, 20, or 35 for our 2nd roll.I asked a question about task 3. If I can read about a serial killer/psychopath, then I'll take task 3.
Esther wrote: "2nd roll:Helen selected her task. There is 5 of us to decide on tasks.
I do not mind doing mine but I got my eye on KimeyDiann's ..."
Esther, you can have my short book for the second roll! My book #2 will be an audiobook so I'm sure the Short Line space will be more beneficial to you. :)
For the first roll I'll be reading Golden's Quest for task #15 Pennsylvania Railroad.
I think I can find something to fit on any of the open spaces for roll #2.
Thank you Kimey! So as I have a regular book and a short book I know I can read in a few hours, I still need an audiobook. So I did a 3rd roll, my last one pre-toppler.
Got a 38. So 14+38-14=12.
Electric company again. I took the task but I am willing to trade if needed.

We are waiting for Thing Two chance roll outcome.
Choices:
Debra (3), 14,20
Kazen 11, 14
KimeyDiann 3, 11, 14, 20
Kirila: 20
Thing Two:?
The spreadsheet is up to date.
Meanie says no about psychopaths/serial killers. I think task 3 is going to be difficult to find a fit. I'll read Secondhand Lions if J-Mom says it's a fit. I saw the movie and enjoyed it.
Ok, Secondhand Lions won't work because the novelization is not available from my library network and it is too expensive to buy on Amazon. DARN!
If I understand the spreadsheet correctly Sam rolled a 36 and I can do that task. It says "Are you feeling lucky" I don't know what task that is but I can do it! Just as soon as I know what that is. If my questions are slowing down the process please feel free to just bossing me around and I will do as I'm told.
Anette,On My phone but in the task tab of the sheet, there os a description of the task decided by the chance card.
Can't check bit it was something about reading a books that is in a team member to read shelf but not on yours.
Right now I think my preference for the second roll will be #14-Virginia Avenue. I have two or three books that take place in or near the state I live in that I can listen to. One of which I have actually been thinking about re-reading for a while and this will give me the perfect excuse. :)My second choice will be #3-Fruitcake, if a non-fiction book is approved by jmom.
If the non-fic book is declined, my next choice will be 11-Saint Charles Place... I'm pretty sure I can get something to fit with one of those strange saints. :)
And of course I'm sure all of us would be good with taking #20-Free Parking (book of your choice)!
Sam's throw gave the following task:Read a book from another team member's shelves that either isn't on yours, or you had forgotten about.
Anette, here is a book you don't have on your shelves (and I have on mine): The Ocean at the End of the LaneYou can see if you can find a good deal or if it available at the library. It's a quick read and a very nice book :)
Or you can checkout Agatha Christie's books. I have most of them on my shelves. They are cozy mysteries, also very quick reads. Perfect for a toppler :)
If no one wants to take task 3, I will read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I found an edition at my library that is over 200 pages long, even though I can't find the edition here on GR. Already okayed this with J-Mom.
Debra wrote: "If no one wants to take task 3, I will read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I found an edition at my library that is over 200 pages long, even though I can't find the edition here..."Sold! this is always my problem with these types of toppler tasks. These are not easy as you need to know details about the book hard to know without reading it. so i am sure there are tons that fit the bill but finding them is hard. That is why it is called a challenge, i guess. :)
Oh noooo =[ I'm really not having much luck. I just rolled a 10. I was already on space 20 now I'm on 30: Go to jail.. Again. I'll go ask another team.
Annette wrote: "I will take task 36 and read The Ocean at the End of three Lane from Kirila's list."I listened to the audiobook read by Gaiman himself. Quite a treat if you like audiobook and have them at your library.
Team, my body called quits. I am down with a fever. Will update the sheet tomorrow when I resurect.
Sarah wrote: "Oh noooo =[ I'm really not having much luck. I just rolled a 10. I was already on space 20 now I'm on 30: Go to jail.. Again. I'll go ask another team."No Luck for Sarah. :(
Okay, from Team Five 39 = Barossa (Australia) – Looks like a place I’d like to visit. Read a book that takes place somewhere you’ve never been, but is on your dream list of must see places.
Hope it's a good one for you. I want to land on this one myself but haven't had any luck so far. :)
Debra wrote: "If no one wants to take task 3, I will read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I found an edition at my library that is over 200 pages long, even though I can't find the edition here..."The original version is a fascinating book, written in mathematical form.
I have a exemplar in which are both,Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, with additional poetry, short stories and (a little disturbing) photos taken by Lewis Carroll
Kirila wrote: "Sam's throw gave the following task:Read a book from another team member's shelves that either isn't on yours, or you had forgotten about."
Thanks for sharing this Kirila, didn't have chance to check this yesterday! :-)

Annette wrote: "I will take task 36 and read The Ocean at the End of three Lane from Kirila's list."I LOVE that book. Have a signed copy at home! The audiobook is also awesome, as previously said. Neil Gaiman has a yummy voice!
Oh Esther! You poor thing. Hope you can get some rest and feel better. We'll be fine without you for a while!
@Esther - I hope you feel better soon!Go ahead and put me down for #14 for the second roll. I'll read Mortal Fear by Greg Iles.
For Task 1, horror, I'll be reading The Neighbors. For Task 2, nutty as a fruitcake, I'll be reading Alice in Wonderland, an edition from my library which is over 200 pages.
I've been trying to navigate the Toppler threads on my phone and it has made keeping clear on the rules and what I need to do a little confusing so I apologize for all the questions. Hopefully this is the last of my questions. I just want to make sure I have it figured out, so please help me one more time. :) Am I correct in thinking that I can roll again now? I can easily commit to 4 or 5 books, maybe more... so that would be a roll for each book I am promising to read each roll coming after I agree to the task for the space I landed on or take one from the pool... yes?
No problem Annette. Goodreads on a phone is frustrating. You are correct, you can roll many but:
- you cannot have more than 1 unassigned task at once. So you take what you roll or trade before your next roll
- there is a penalty for tasks that will no be completed, so be sure of yourself before you roll as you need to read as many book as you roll. You cannot give task away.
This is why I rolled 3 times only. I will surely add 1 or 2 more but I am going to wait until I am almost done with a book to do so.
Thing Two wrote: "Hey Jmom - I'm feelin' lucky today!"Let's see how lucky.
Read a book with at least one person on the cover. At least half of their body must be visible. It can be the top, bottom, middle, or split lengthwise
This one should no be that bad....
I rolled 31 for my second roll. I believe that puts me on 11. I can take that task. I would love some book suggestions if anyone has one!
Annette wrote: "I rolled 31 for my second roll. I believe that puts me on 11. I can take that task. I would love some book suggestions if anyone has one!"Looking over your TBR, I see the following books that might work...
The World Without You (5. Edward the Confessor -- Patron Saint of Difficult Marriages or 6. Felicity -- Patron Saint of Barren Women and Parents Who Have Had a Child Die)
Gone Girl (5. Edward the Confessor -- Patron Saint of Difficult Marriages or 6. Felicity -- Patron Saint of Barren Women and Parents Who Have Had a Child Die)
In the Woods (8. Columba -- Patron Saint of Bookbinders, Poets, and Ireland)
I'm sure there are others, that was just what I saw from a quick perusal.
Esther , I really like the READ THIS idea. It is a big help in keeping current. Kudos team captain! For the first roll, I have #14 -- 14 = Virginia Avenue – I was born in Virginia. Read a book that takes place in your hometown/city/county/province/state/territory/country – you get the idea. Try to get close, but don’t drive yourself insane.
I will be reading A Plain Disappearance (Appleseed Creek #3) by Amanda Flower
I live in central Ohio and Appleseed Creek is set in Amish country in Central Ohio.
Your first throw was 19. Then you threw 31. 19+31 =50. Since there are 40 tiles including Go, you need to subtract 40. 50-40=10. Maybe my assumptions are wrong. Was your first throw 19? Was your second throw 31?
I am still alive but a bit into zombie mode. Will update tomorrow. I am just too lazy to do so. Fun part is I am doing the Run for the cause race (i'm fast walking it as i am not a runner) for research on breast cancer Sunday am. It would be great if i could actually breathe. :)
Nighty night I am off to sleep off that annoying cold.
