ABANDONED. Urban Fantasy: Narrating character becomes posessed by demon and, over time, an unreliable narrator as the demon starts taking over

To start off, this book is NOT from the Jim Butcher's Dresden Files (since he has a similar themed story in at least one of those books).

The trouble I have with finding this book is that I actually never read it. I read a great BOOK REVIEW on a website of it that made me want to read it, sometime within the last 8 years. The book would have been a new book at the time of the book review.

I vaguely think the cover was typical dark stormy colors with a little close up to the lead character, maybe a city backdrop.

I think I have found it every friggin' time I see the cover for this book: Alchemystic

But I don't THINK that is the book, based on the book description.

Pretty sure that the lead character/narrator is female, but don't hold me to that. Could be male.

The thing I know is that the lead character/narrator is possessed at some point, I believe by some kind of demon. Over the course of the book, the narration becomes more and more unreliable as the demon/being takes over the character.

Fingers crossed that that is enough for somebody to help me find this book!

Could it be Maledicte by Lane Robins? The main character is a girl who disguises herself as a nobleman to exact revenge with the help of a demon-god thing that is possessing her. She wrestles for control over her body and actions as the demon-god slowly takes her over. The cover also has a close-up of the character although not a cityscape.

Well, that book looks awesome, but no, I don't think it was. I believe the book had a more contemporary setting.
