Text Mess (textmess) To start off, this book is NOT from the Jim Butcher's Dresden Files (since he has a similar themed story in at least one of those books).

The trouble I have with finding this book is that I actually never read it. I read a great BOOK REVIEW on a website of it that made me want to read it, sometime within the last 8 years. The book would have been a new book at the time of the book review.

I vaguely think the cover was typical dark stormy colors with a little close up to the lead character, maybe a city backdrop.

I think I have found it every friggin' time I see the cover for this book: Alchemystic

But I don't THINK that is the book, based on the book description.

Pretty sure that the lead character/narrator is female, but don't hold me to that. Could be male.

The thing I know is that the lead character/narrator is possessed at some point, I believe by some kind of demon. Over the course of the book, the narration becomes more and more unreliable as the demon/being takes over the character.

Fingers crossed that that is enough for somebody to help me find this book!

Eliene | 38 comments Could it be Maledicte by Lane Robins? The main character is a girl who disguises herself as a nobleman to exact revenge with the help of a demon-god thing that is possessing her. She wrestles for control over her body and actions as the demon-god slowly takes her over. The cover also has a close-up of the character although not a cityscape.

Text Mess (textmess) Well, that book looks awesome, but no, I don't think it was. I believe the book had a more contemporary setting.

I've read that book and I don't believe that is the one she's looking for.
