AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments When the girl, Riva, asked how many stings I had, I replied so my allies would let me do more stuff,"Only 2. I got out of there real fast." I looked at the supplies. No. Knives. I sigh. "So I guess there wasn't any knives, was there?" Then I say,"At district 2, we weren't taught much knots because our trainers thought we wouldn't need it. Does anyone know of a good knot?"

((Did anything happen overnight with Lia, Cia, Lolita, and Charlie?))

message 153: by annaesj (new)

annaesj "That's good, then. And no. No knives, it was all survival sort of stuff." Riva shrugged. She should know a bit about knots, having spent all her training time at that station, but she was doing only a mediocre job on the door. And the girl was from district two? Usually the tributes from two were volunteers, setting out to win. She didn't look like a career. But Riva didn't want to underestimate her.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments ((Nope, it still day 1, they just woke up after 4 or 5 hours.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments As I see Riva "evaluate" me, I see her nod her head. I say,"Yeah... I wasn't a volunteer, if that's what you're thinking. I was picked. But no one dared to volunteer for me because let's just say some people or slightly scared of me."

Breezy (captainisking) Charlie thought for a moment. The girl seemed genuine enough. Despite everyone's differences, they all had the same objective: to not die. Getting inside this store would help. Very, very much. "I would love to know what's in there, but I'll bet that there has to be something guarding all those goodies. The Gamemakers wouldn't just leave everything there for the taking." Charlie sighed, deep in thought. "If we could just know what's protecting all of the supplies, we might know how to fight it, or outsmart it." How on earth could they fight it? They didn't have any weapons. They'd figure something out, she supposed. They'd play this by ear. Once they knew what they're up against, they'd have a better chance of defeating it.

message 157: by [deleted user] (new)

((Okay, thanks Aubree))

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments I know that this is silly of me, but I begin to wonder where the other tributes are. I suddenly want to find them. This is a very stupid idea of mine, I know, but... what if the other tributes have supplies we need. What if they know something we don't?

Lia had basically been quiet this whole time. The arrival of Charlie, her and Cia debating entering the store, who should, and all of that. Lolita had basically stayed quiet that whole time, and Lia felt as though that was usual from her from the vibes she was getting. "I think that we're going to need a weapon of some sorts, maybe we should tackle the Cornucopia." Lia didn't really trust Charlie at all, she had some weak trust in Cia- she seemed deceiving, and she knew next to nothing about Lolita, so she wouldn't feel right going anywhere with any of these girls.

"Yeah if you want to die," Cia said. "That Cornucopia is your death waiting to happen. And don't you think I know that Charlie?" She was still working out a strategy, but she'd need to do it quick. It was all of a sudden smoldering hot outside. It's not good to be in the heat too long. They needed to get inside somewhere, but Cia knew better than to just waltz her way into a store that could have something that could kill her.

message 163: by annaesj (new)

annaesj "Right," she said, not sarcasticly. You never knew, with these upper district people. She saw that Minerva seemed to be struggling, and gestured at her. "Do you know what we can do about that? What are those leaves you have?"

message 164: by [deleted user] (new)

Lia ended up being slightly defused that her idea had been shot down so quickly, but she knew before she had even spoken that it probably would have been anyways. "Anyways, I think that we're just wasting time right now and--" That was when the extreme heat suddenly got to Lia. What were the GameMakers trying to do, make them die from heat exhaustion or heat stroke? Probably.

message 165: by annaesj (new)

annaesj "Not surprising. I don't think you should try to walk for a while. You're still drifting in and out of hallucinations," Riva told her. It wasn't very worrying if Minerva couldn't walk now, they would just have to hope she would improve before too long.

message 166: by [deleted user] (new)

Mihr had been trapped in the Cornucopia for quite some time, due to the wind. And suddenly it became hot. Extremely hot. She felt her legs weaken almost, and she thought she felt her knees about to buckle, and so she got herself into a kneeling position quickly. She rolled up her knee highs so that they were more like sorts and was grateful that she was wearing a tanktop. She decided to stock up on some more supplies. She had 7 weapons. 7 knives. But no water, and she had no idea how safe the water here was to drink anyways. So she grabbed the two things that were nearest to her, a water purification tablet and a water bottle and stuffed them in her backpack as well. But then, she thought she heard the rooftop door, begin to creak, she scrambled to her feet. She had no weapons in her hands, although she could grab one in a second if needed.

"We need to get inside," Cia said, finishing Lia's sentence. "I know." They really did need to though, but how could they surpass the trap inside and stay there? Unless there were buildings without traps...

message 168: by annaesj (new)

annaesj "It will do for now." Riva didn't want to worry her more. "You'll be ok." She avoided the question.

((How many did she get?))

"Right. Can't we just find a makeshift weapon or something to break the windows, peek inside, see what's in there and all? And if there's anything useful we'll take it. And if there's mutts.. we'll run." Lia suggested, The plan was simple, and was basically what everything had been saying before just in bits and pieces. But she had but the idea back together like a puzzle.

Cia followed Lolita's movements with her eyes. She was heading off, but she didn't seem to be leaving, just thinking. Perhaps... Her eyes caught one of the citizens. The citizens. She walked toward it, slowly and cautiously. It's movements seemed real, but they seemed programmed, mechanical almost. Of course! The citizens weren't real, they were fake, robotic. Even the Capitol wouldn't put real citizens in the arena. She walked up to it, asking it to follow her. To her delight, it did. Once she made it to the doors, she sent everyone a look that said "trust me", before she flung the door open, shoved the fake citizen inside and slammed it closed. She held onto it, making sure the citizen couldn't see her. The lights to the shop turned on, illuminating what was inside. Basic survival gear and everyday items, but no food, weapons or medicine. The robotic citizen seemed confused, like it wasn't sure why it was inside the building.

*

Inside, the Capitol's programs recognized that there was someone inside the shop. It didn't bother to see who the person was, it just noticed a body. It was then that the dogs were unleashed upon the poor robotic citizen. Three muttation hounds descended upon the robot, tearing it to shreds. Then, satisfied they had done their job, the hounds retreated to their hidden cages in the back of the store.

"Well, we'd have to get more citizens then. But that doesn't sound like too bad of an option. I'll go," Cia offered. "I'm fast, and I know what I need and things that would be good to grab also." She looked around at the other three girls. "Who's coming with me? Oh, and we have to be careful around the citizens too. Who knows what they've been programmed to do?"

message 173: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'll go." Lia offered immediately. Her eyes were suddenly very determined. She wanted to be able to do something for once and not just stand around. She may not be a Career, or from Three and know a lot about robots and all, but she knew she was a fast runner and wasn't easily distracted either.

Cia nodded to Lia. "You come with me to get more citizens then," she said, obviously making and executing a plan in her head. "If you guys want to come, you can. But I'm not waiting for you." She turned to Lia, motioning with her hand for them to go. She took off at a jog, heading a bit closer towards the center of the Arena, where there would be more citizens.

message 175: by Breezy (last edited Sep 30, 2014 02:31PM) (new)

Breezy (captainisking) Charlie was about to offer to go, but Lia beat her to it. She wanted to actually help, to contribute, instead of being a tag-a-long. "Maybe we can stand guard? Or perhaps you can throw the supplies to us through a window or the door, so we can gather as much as we can and not have a limit as to what you can carry." She then headed to round up more bots with the rest of the girls.

message 176: by [deleted user] (new)

Lia jogged along with Cia after a nod in Charlie and Lolita's direction. She could tell just before she left that Charlie seemed a bit disappointed that she couldn't go along with the main mission but Lia ignored it. She could still come along if she wanted to anyways. She caught up to Cia easily, and talked as she jogged. "So, what's the plan?" She got the gist of it of course, but it wasn't like they could just herd all of the citizens together and expect them to travel obediently in groups.

Cia glanced behind her, noticing that all of them had followed, to round up the citizens at least. "Just tell them to follow you. They will. Don't be rough with them or anything, don't even be too rough when you lead them into the store," she said, the last part directed more towards herself and Lia than Lolita and Charlie. She walked up to a trio of citizens, politely asking them to help her find the nearest general store. They came with her, guiding her towards the exact same store she had been at only moments before. There, she asked them to stay with her until her allies arrived. They did.

message 178: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 30, 2014 02:42PM) (new)

Lia did the same as Cia, finding it actually... easy. She found a group of 4 citizens, and asked if they could direct her to the closest general store, pretty much exactly like Cia. They obeyed her and so she requested that they stay in place while she.. she looked for an excuse in her mind. While she got a drink. She found a cluster of more citizens, six of them actually, and did the same with them. They were all surprisingly obedient for Capitol citizens. Of course, though, they weren't really Capitol citizens.

message 179: by [deleted user] (new)

((Okay, XD... Are you just waiting for Mel to reply before continuing with Linadel?))

message 180: by Breezy (new)

Breezy (captainisking) Charlie followed Cia's lead and asked a few 'citizens' to lead her to the nearest general store. She calmly and politely merged them with the other girls' groups in front of the door. Then stepped back slightly to give the citizens some room and herself space also. She wiped some sweat from her forehead. The heat was starting to get to her a little bit, but she ignored it, and waited for Cia and Lia's signal to usher the bots inside. She would guard the door and windows, she decided. The others might want a little bit of support, but from a different area.

"Lia, you ready? We should have enough," Cia said, looking over the sixteen robotic citizens they had clustered around the doors of the store. Her plan had fallen into place, all at once. "I have a plan, to make them go in. Just follow my lead," she whispered, ready to initiate her plan. She pushed her way through the citizens so she was standing by the doors.

"Citizens of the Capitol!" she announced to the crowd. "You lucky sixteen shoppers have been randomly selected for an incredible sale! Just step right on in-" at that she opened the door, "-because anything at the very back of the store is completely free! You heard me. Absolutely free." She had realized that the robots were programmed to act like normal Capitol citizens, who she knew couldn't resist a sale. The robots stampeded through the doors and towards the back of the store, and Cia followed in behind them. She grabbed a tablet, the thing she had wanted most of all, a sleeping bag, some matches, tarp and rope, before bolting out the doors. Hopefully Lia would pay attention to what she had grabbed, and grab things she hadn't, things that would complement it well.

message 186: by Breezy (last edited Sep 30, 2014 04:27PM) (new)

Breezy (captainisking) Charlie couldn't resist. She figured it would be safe, and she knew she was fast enough, so she darted inside. The hounds were kept busy by the citizens, so she had time to grab rope, sleeping bag, matches, tarp, flashlight, and a backpack to store her supplies in. She then darted out once again into the blazing heat, safe and sound.

Girlfromdystopia | 564 comments Adele drafted in and out of horrors of her own mind. She saw her foster parents getting shot right in front of her, her sister screaming her name as she bled to death in the bloodbath, and Neph. His was always the worst. He was ether dying or being tortured, and she was always stuck behind a invisible glass wall, unbreakable and heart wrenching. He would call out her name as he burned on a stake, or when he was shot just in a place where it took forever for him to bleed out. The only comfort was when she regained some sense of sanity and saw Sage hovering over her, her face worried and helpless.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments I answer Minny's question and then she slowly drifts back to sleep,"No! Of course not...". When Adele wakes up I smile at her. I say hello and then ask her where she thinks she is. I am hoping she will, we definitely do not want her to have a mental illness.
