Dawn Michelle This one is about 2 girls who are pen-pals and when the one decides to visit the other one, she has to decide whether to tell the truth...she is disabled and has been lying about her whole life to her pen-pal friend. Good book. Just can't remember the name!

Emily | 55 comments wow that sounds similar, but the book i read was more of a kids book, probably for the 8-12 age range. The disability thing sounds somewhat familiar, i just remember that both girls didnt like their lives so they made up better lives...saying that they were rich and popular to the pen pal when in reality they were neither.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 218 comments Maybe this one:
Secrets Aren't (Always) for Keeps: Featuring Jennifer Hauser by Barbara Aiello and Jeffrey Shulman. 1988. 48 p. Kids on the Block series.

After successfully hiding her learning disability problems from her Australian pen pal, Jennifer becomes very apprehensive when her friend announces she is coming for a visit and wants to spend a day at her school.

Emily | 55 comments Hmm that wasn't it for me, but maybe thats the book dawn is looking for!

I'm not 100% sure mine had anything about a disability in it. I'm leaning towards the whole popular/rich thing...but I read it so long ago and there seems to be a lot of similar story lines!

Christy | 41 comments I read this book, too, I think, probably over 25 years ago. I think that it took place in Baltimore and the main character's sister or brother may be getting married...or something. I know that isn't much help.
