YA fantasy: part of a series, cover has silhouette of tree branches over a pink sky background, kids have psychic powers, trapped in a room with void outside

- most sure of how the cover looks - tree branches silhouette over a pink twilight sky. no leaves, just black branches on a pink background.
- part of a series where the titles were either one word or really short
- most likely a trilogy
- it was read around 2010-2012
- it was probably a middle school level book
- it was set in present day
- no aliens/etc, it was set in the real world.
- more mystical than fantasy

plot details i remember:
- a group of kids had special powers (can't remember what powers they had, but it was like "psychic powers" - not like superhero powers)
- main characters were the kids
- two of the "special" characters were definitely brothers
- story was told from multiple perspectives (i think)

one scene I vividly remember:
- the main characters are trying to escape some villain, and hide out in a house that seems hidden away. then they hear/sense the villain's voice, they look outside the house's windows (or open the door) and see nothing but grey static outside. they are in some void/alternate dimension far from home
