Catriona Norrish | 9 comments The book I'm searching for I read as a child in the 60s. I think it may have been set in Wales. The sisters are called Yseult and Blaina(?). Yseult starts the story and younger sister Blaina 'takes up the tale'. There's a blond young man called Jan with Scandinavian heritage. I think the girls have a stepmother called Diana who is a witch. Yseult falls in love with a bandit? Pirate? something like that. I would love to read it again. Any help gratefully received!

The Sisters' Tale by Frances Castle?

Here's the description on Amazon: "Sixth-century Ireland, still immersed in dark, pagan superstitions, is the setting for this tale of two sisters, daughters of the nobleman Cohachur. Yseult and Blaina tell teir own story, beginning with the last poignant days of their childhood, when their mother dies and their fate comes into the hands of an indifferent father. Told with a spirit and haunting mood reminiscent of medieval legends, this is both a sensitive and dramatic account of a marvelously colorful period of history."

Catriona Norrish | 9 comments Kris thank you so much. This is indeed the very one. I looked it up and the cover is the one I had. You've given me back a little bit of childhood.
Thank you
