The Boy in the Striped Pajamas question

The historical period where this novel is set is just the frame of the story. It is a very good book since the whole story is told from the point of view of two kids from different origins. It isn't focus in the horrors of the II World War but in the friendship which is built between these two young fellows. Such a master piece tell us that everyone is the same no matter where you belong to or what kind of blood runs through your veins. It clearly states that friendship can go beyond cultures and believes and defeat any odd. It is for these reasons that I highly recommend anyone to read this book.

This is one of my very favorite books. Simply breathtaking and heart-wrenching. Love, love, LOVE!!!

When I finished the book I cried then I, stupidly, decided to watch the movie and I was a sobbing mess. Its still one of my favorite books.

I would DEFINITELY classify it as a good book! Maybe not a really great book and certainly not a perfect book, but it is, nonetheless, a good read. I don't see how the horror of the topic is any reason to question the quality of the book?

Before I spiel about this book, there is a pre-spiel I must make before you all call me cruel and heartless.

I have been fascinated with WWII for about four years. I know every way people were killed, have read excerpts from the General of the Ally forces from D-Day, and know all about how Hitler hunted gays. (He placed pink triangles on them to find and kill them more efficiently, which is why pink is seen as a girl's color and blue is a boy's.)

So at the end of this book, I only contemplated the true horrors of the Holocaust from someone who didn't know what was going on. He hailed Hitler when he didn't actually know who Hitler was.

So I didn't cry. I only broke. Just a little.

Because mosaics are just broken glass but that's called art and so are you.

Hope I made someone smile. :)

of course it's a good book. it shows us a different side to the story, and the innocence of Bruno tells us how oblivious he was to how horribly the Jews were treated in the war. people can learn a lot from this book.

This was an amazingly good book. I think when most people think about the holocaust they mainly view it from the side of the victims which of course is important to think about too. But not many people think about those who were oblivious to what was actually happening. Like Bruno, many people had no idea what was exactly going on behind those fences. And I think that this book perfectly depicts he innocence of children and that we're not born racist and prejudice towards others. I think this is a really fantastic book that addresses many different themes in an easy to read understandable way.

Very sad , heart wrenching , very good.

It is a really good book, don't even doubt about it. I've read in two days because I couldn't just stop reading that incredible book!

I like this book i think it is a good book. The characters Bruno and the other boy (im sorry its been a while sense i read the book and i forget his name)are o very much child like and it really reminds the reader that children were on both sides "of the fence" theses characters are so likable because they are so child like and it isn't annoying and it works so well. that is the best thing about this book - the characters.the plot was also good and the ending in its ambiguity just reenforces that these characters are children. this book atleast in my head is a good book.

It is a very very good book and there is absolutely no doubt about that...!!
