SOLVED. Gruesome Horror book about an evil entity controlling a town. Exploding heads. [s]

I don't remember much about the title. It has something to do with darkness or thunder or storms. The book opens with a kid in a movie theatre screaming that his head is killing him due to the loud voice in his head. His head then explodes, and the plot of the book starts. It's about an evil entity that is starting to kill people in the town. The entity has a sick sense of humor and the whole book is pretty messed up, but it is very well written and entertaining. I read it in the 7th or 8th grade, and would really appreciate it if you guys could help find it! Thank you!
