Tyler Wood (mountainmanty) | 1 comments I don't remember much about the title. It has something to do with darkness or thunder or storms. The book opens with a kid in a movie theatre screaming that his head is killing him due to the loud voice in his head. His head then explodes, and the plot of the book starts. It's about an evil entity that is starting to kill people in the town. The entity has a sick sense of humor and the whole book is pretty messed up, but it is very well written and entertaining. I read it in the 7th or 8th grade, and would really appreciate it if you guys could help find it! Thank you!

I'm going to add a few details to your header. The header is important because it attracts more eyes for your post. If it is too generic, it is more likely to be skipped over.
You can change the header by clicking on the small (edit) at the end of the header.

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 96 from two months ago where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

A range of years is fine. This will help us narrow down the search.

Rockabilly's suggestion of Darkly the Thunder by William W. Johnstone looks very promising.

Google Books preview:
https://books.google.com/books?id=OBt... There are different cover images.

Quote from the book:
- [Chapter 1] She was sitting in her car at one of the local drive-ins, listening to her radio, and eating a hamburger and fries (...) Carol suddenly experienced a horrible, searing pain in her right ankle. She opened her mouth to scream (...) The bones in her other leg broke under strain, and she shrieked in agony.
But no one heard her.

A reviewer mentions exploding heads, so we'll move this to Solved. The OP was last active in early 2021.
