Q&A with ANGELFALL author Susan Ee

Angelfall is, no doubt, one of the best books I've ever read.
My question is-what inspired you to write it?"
Writing a story about apocalyptic angels had been percolating in the back of my mind for years. The oldest stories of angels have them associated with the destruction of entire cities and turning people into pillars of salt. Angels are described as playing an essential role in ancient stories of the end of the world. I thought it would be interesting to bring it back into modern times.

I would love to read fan fiction, but I don't. I let my characters tell their story and inspire my writing. (And my lawyer says it's not a good idea for me to check out fan fiction, which is a bummer, I know!)

Raffe has been around our world long enough to speak like a native speaker of English as well as most other languages. He's smart and sexy like that.

I absolutely love your books!
My questions are--
When will the blurb and name for book 3 be revealed? (I can't wait!)"
I'll send out the title and publishing date on my email list on Thurs or Friday. We'll also post it my blog here and on social media sites.
The blurb and cover will take a while longer, not sure when.

Aww...thanks, Ails and all the rest of you who are so excited and supportive!

Gorgeous!!!

omg, i am so keen to read the other 5 outtakes ~~~ do you think they will also be published somewhere somehow? please, please, please, Susan ~ you are the kindest ~~~~ :)))))

Lol! MAYBE sometime in the future, I'll get a chance to go through my reams of outtakes for you guys who are interested and see what I can do. :) It's not something I would normally even think about unless a bunch of people want it.

We'd love to read whatever you have lined up Susan! :) I'd love to see all the possible scenarios for the ending.
Btw, late to the party but HI SUSAN! Ahhh! I missed you. (Or should I say, Eeee! Haha) So glad to have you on social network after a while :)
So excited for the next and (sadly) final instalment! I can't wait to see what it's called.
I know the cover isn't even out yet, but there will be potential giveaways and teasers and all that fun stuff before its out, right?
And I was wondering, if it hasn't been asked, if a spin-off series might be something you're interested in doing if Penryn and Raffe's adventure is still ongoing? We'd all love to read something like that!
P.S: When you're done with edits and movie stuff, maybe you'll have a chance to become a part of the tumblr Angelfall fandom? It's amazing and people have such great stuff dedicated to the Angelfall trilogy up there! I hope if you get the chance that you'll get there too. :)

All three books are the same length--about 80,000 words.
One of the best compliments I got was from one of you saying in your review that my books felt bigger on the inside than they are on the outside. Thank you to whoever said that. I loved that comment because I work so hard to try to get it that way. I write at least three times the number of words that you see in the final version, then work hard to whittle it down without losing the substance of the larger work. (Which is why I find it funny that you want to read the outtakes. :)

Hi Aqsa! *Waves* Check it out--I now have a Tumbler account specifically because you guys requested it. :)

My question: Who is your favorite character outside of Penryn & Raffe?
Also - off-topic question: Do you collect anything? Raffe-shaped figures maybe? :)

You and your books deserve our utmost support!

Yes please Susan! Can we have a sneak peek like the last one? :P

Hi Natalie! I have a large collection of meeples. They're little wooden figurines used for board games. I use them for both board games and for dioramas for scenes. Super cute!

Hugs,
Susan Ee

the reason is obvious :)))) because we fans don't want the story to end ~~~ therefore, we want to read everything related to Angelfall: novella, outtakes, side stories/spin-off.....
besides, i definitely will read everything you write because you are such an amazing story-teller ~

I can not believe how much I love Angelfall.
Susan, I think you're a great writer, and I honestly do not think you know how much I am in love with the series.
I LOVE ALL OF THE SAGA Penryn and the end of days. ALL !!
Since the names of the characters, their attitudes, places you name the actions ... can go a lifetime praising this series and still not be enough.
I must say I'm too impatient for the third book, * small request: MAKE POVs of Raffe * jajajajja,
Another little thing, you could make the books in the series are published in Latin America ?? ... * Argentina * jajajja, is that I love, and I need them in physique. jajajajaj
THE WORLD NEEDS MORE BOOKS AS you write !!
THANKS FOR ... WRITE (?

Hi Susan, Are you kidding!!! Please decide yes. I would be one of the first to buy your published out takes. I just finished buying your two books for another of my friends as a gift. (6 sets including mine) Everyone that I gave them to loved them. You are an extremely gifted writer. They can't wait for book three to come out. Waiting impatiently because I am in love with your characters,LOL Jo
Thanks, Mel! I consider it my job to follow the characters around and jot down their stories as they live them. We all live through so many stories and so do characters. I end up with reams of writing. I then whittle it down to what feels right. I wrote six entirely different endings to Angelfall, each one getting closer to the truth until I hit one that felt right.
