Read this YA paperback book in late 80s, early 90s and it may be part of a series. Takes place in New Orleans. The main character is a teen girl who is visiting her father who does sound for movies. His movie set keeps getting sabotaged. Random details: She tries beignets, and brings her own hot chocolate mix when she goes places. She used to fall asleep to her dad editing sound, so backwards sounds are soothing to her. There is a love interest in a local guy. I've looked for YEARS for this, so please help! Thank you!

Do you remember the cover?Do you remember any other characters, like friends, actors, pets, etc?
I don't remember the cover exactly, but it might have a film strip border.Someone on the movie set tries to pick up the MC and tells her he does something fancy, and she's like "oh you mean, you're a key grip/camera man/low on the totem pole." kind of response.
I don't think there were any friends, other than the love interest. The MC is just visiting her father b/c he is working on a movie there.
