Were you satisfied with the Ending?

I loved this book terribly however felt the remaining 100 pages was the product of an Author quickly knotting up the loose ends so that he could just 'end it already'.

Having William and the bishop poke back at Phillip just a few more times felt superfluous. William could have died little earlier on in the book, but instead it was sort of anti-climactic... But over all the fact that these heavy, life altering sequences started and were completed in mere paragraphs nearing the end was a bit disappointing.

Again still loved the book. What do you think?

LOVED the book too. Did you ever see the miniseries? Waleran's end is almost better there. As for the final conflicts with the Bishop and William, I think they'd seem less overdone if more time was dedicated to resolving all the conflicts and character arcs.

Brooklyn I agree with you. I have not yet watched the mini series, I was hoping to get my hands on it this weekend though! I wanted to complete the book before watching it, and so far I'm glad that I did.

Be warned, there is a lot of stuff in the miniseries that'll make you shriek at the TV, but they did well with some parts. :)

will keep that in mind! I already saw the actress the plays Aliena. Beautiful girl, not at all how the book described her though.

She was about how I pictured her in the miniseries. It was the guy who played Tom Builder who REALLY threw me off. Waleran was okay, but he'll always be Alan Rickman in my imagination. Oh, and they get weird about the civil war subplot.

Have you read WORLD WITHOUT END yet? It's okay, but DON'T WATCH THE MINISERIES! I screamed at the tv for 8 hours straight and lost my voice.

I have not started it yet! Taking a mental break, and giving my wrists a break too because 1,000 pages gets heavy!
I watched the trailer, and a lot of the comments were negative! So I may stay clear of that one!
I felt that way for a few series made into moves/ books. I admit that years ago I read the Sookie stack house series, and pretty much lost my mind trying to watch the show. So off.

I thought the book was fantastic except for the ending......it was like Martha was forgotten to be included in the wrapping up of the story.

I loved the book is very good and entertaining, but I didn't liked the end, as the author forgot about the characters and focuses on historical events. I liked more the end of the TV miniseries. I haven't read yet A World Without End and I still haven't seen the TV miniseries.

Yes. I was satisfied with the ending. This was an excellent book. I read it so long ago, but do not remember being dissatisfied with any of it.

Yes, I was satisfied with the ending although it wasn't particularly heartwarming. I cried when a character died earlier in the book, but I shed no tears at the end of the book.
