Has anyone else read The Mysteries of Udolpho?

I've started reading this, basically because it's referenced in a few Regency books, including Northanger Abbey.

OMG, it's so SLOW!! There's far too much description and everyone seems to be eternally weeping.
Emily has just gone to Italy.

Is it worth continuing?
