October 2014 Book of the Month - In a Handful of Dust

Our amazing friend and author Mindy McGinnis will be joining the group for a second time for a Q&A starting on October 6th and we'll be reading her second book In a Handful of Dust since we've already read the first book in the series .

Spoilers are welcome but be sure to use spoiler tags for those who haven't finished reading yet. :)

It will be so nice to have Mindy back and I've been sitting on my Nook copy so I can wait and read it with the group.

I actually couldn't wait, so I read it the other day... I never give spoilers though, so don't try and get any out of me! Also, I'll wait for others to have a chance to read it and start discussing it before I do so.

I have picked this up and looked at the cover at least half a dozen times but had to slap my hand to wait until everyone else starts reading. I may have to start early too, Victoria! ;-D

I'm in this book a little over 40%. For whatever reason, realistic post-apocalyptic stories are one of my favorite genres.

I'm having a hard time putting this down. Cantankerous Lynn is back and so is Lucy, although a teenager now. I just love their relationship!!

Wow, Mindy does an incredible job of making this world so realistically scary! Love this book! I'm about 67% in and hope to finish shortly.

Hahahah! Making myself wait until the weekend was part of it. :) I didn't want to read this in bits and pieces during the work week. I'm so glad I waited until the weekend when I could read it in a couple of sittings!
