I'm actually kind of curious for how that'll play out...

After more or less accidentally planning him in my head, I'm fairly sure that they'll be pretty different personality wise (other than the fact that they both kind of seem arrogant in my opinion, but oh well), so I don't think the powers will matter too much ultimately...

Personality: Despite Baldur's reputation as a notorious lady, and occasionally even man, killer, he isn't exactly a bad person. In fact, if he feels that you really need him, he's actually fairly likely to help. However, due to the fact that he's willing to help just about any cause that seems pitiable to him, as well as the fact that he can be a bit full of himself at times, he has a habit of volunteering to help even during the times that he can't really do anything. Nonetheless, since Baldur's unwilling to admit his incompetence, he'll attempt to help anyways. Luckily, he's got a silver tongue, and can generally convince someone to help him dig himself out of whatever hole he falls into. When it comes to simply socializing, it also doesn't hurt that even the people who don't exactly like him have admit he has a sort of grace and amiable quality to him that generally makes him rather easy to get along with. Overall, Baldur tends to be a bit of a thrill seeker, to the point that he once got a tattoo simply because he was bored and had never done it before, and this quality has only become more prominent as he's aged. It's rare that he'll actually regret a decision he makes though, generally he'll simply mark it as a learning experience. Still, this quality also leaves him often unwilling to do things simply because he finds them boring, such as attempting to study modern science. It isn't even that he isn't smart enough, in fact, an average conversation with him would make Baldur seem as though he's slightly above average intelligence, though a more academic oriented one would likely reveal his ignorance. Nevertheless, after witnessing all the technological advancements through the ages, he's convinced it's pointless to learn something now that you'll simply have to amend later, and so commits his time to things he considers timeless, or else simply amusing.
» Weakness(es): pride; since he hasn't exactly had a proper education past a level of approximately junior high, he isn't exactly well schooled in things such as science and math, though not to say he's incompetent in them; if he considers something boring, then it's difficult to motivate him to do it, even if it's necessary; he has a bit of trouble staying devoted to one activity or place, hence why he traveled so much in the past; he's occasionally unable to resist attempting to enamor individuals he finds attractive.
» Strength(s): music; charisma; having gone back and forth from the Homelands and human world for a while, he has actually witnessed quite a bit of Mundy history firsthand; having to have adapt to so many different things throughout the years, he's developed into a fairly quick learner; he's heard of and met most Fables, whether or not the remember meeting him, and is aware of the histories of many of them through gossip and witnessing it firsthand.
History: Before Baldur became the mythical Pied Piper, he was actually merely a young bard who ran away from his constricting lifestyle as an aristocrat in hopes of finding freedom. When he first entered the town of Hamelin, he was starved and desperate for food, but found that the townspeople cared little for music. Instead, they were looking for someone who could assist them with their rat infestation. Initially, he didn't even feel like attempting the task, but after accepting some food kindly offered by the children of the town, as well as entertaining them with some tales he had heard, which would later turn out to be his true mistake, he decided to attempt to imitate the Indian snake charmers he'd heard of, albeit with rats. Almost unfathomably, he actually succeeded in luring the rodents away, but, unbeknownst to him, as he left the town, the children, inspired by the tales they heard, and hoping to seek their own glory, ran off as well. For a while afterwards, he didn't suspect the thing. However, about a year later, as the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin spread as a wildfire, he began to notice rapid improvements in his musical ability.
Then, one day, he woke to find himself not in a small, German forest like the one he'd settled for a nap in, but rather some unknown, magical one, which he would eventually know to be part of the Homelands. From there, Baldur's life as the Pied Piper began, as he traveled both the Fable and Mundy worlds, cultivating a reputation as a charming, bewitchingly talented bard in the former, and using his magically enhanced musical talents to advise budding musical geniuses in the latter. Being one of the older Fables, Baldur has had the opportunity to travel most, if not all, of the Homelands, using a combination of his talent, aristocratic mannerisms, as well as a English accent which he adopted particularly to appeal to females (one that he took on so long ago, in fact, that by now it's simply natural to him), to appeal to audiences of all social classes, allowing him to meet most of the Fables in the lands he has traveled. Though, admittedly, he also tends to not visit the same place more than once, as his habit of flirting with local women tends to get him in quite a bit of trouble.
Baldur has been around Fabletown approximately since its founding, seeing as he found the idea curious. However, it wasn't till about a decade ago that he decided to stop using it as simply a base for his travels and actually get a proper house. Nonetheless, he still ends up traveling quite often with his band, which is quite popular with both Fables and Mundies, and hasn't spend more than several months at a time at home.
Relations:
» Peter Aster - Fable; 112; Thief; Frenemy
» Little Red Riding Hood - Fable; 514; Waitress; Frequent Listener, and Mild Flirtation
Weapon(s) None
Fighting Skill(s): Having been in as many bar fights as he has, Baldur can hold his own in hand-to-hand combat, and as a child and teenager, he was expected to learn fencing and archery, but he hasn't bothered with weapons for a while, so while retaining some muscle recall of sword and bows, he doesn't really know too much about using them. He has never fired a gun before, though.
Special Abilities: Baldur has the ability to master any instrument he encounters significantly faster than the average individual can even learn to play it. Also, when Baldur plays music, his audience feels compelled to do as he wishes, which he dictates by which combination of notes and rhythms he plays. This ability is most effective if he's playing his flute or else a different wind instrument, but can also be done to a lesser extent if he hums or plays a different instrument. However, since playing certain patterns which he has learned from instinct and experimenting is a necessity of his power, a normal song would have no effect, other than simply sounding better when he play it than anyone else does.
Other: Since he's traveled the Mundy world so thoroughly, he can speak a multitude of languages.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
