This is a book about a girl whose parents are killed by shifters when she is a teenager. After this she discovers a patch of fur on her wrist which means she is mated to a wolf. She uses a tracking system/social network for shifters to stay away from her mate (who she has never met). She ends up talking to her mate out of curiosity on the social network system. He tracks her in the city and tries to convince her to go with him. She rejects him but calls for her help when her vampire room mate is kidnapped. She meets a lot of interesting people is this book like a were puffer fish who ends up murdered in her living room.

Puffer fish shifter. The weirdest I have come across is a hedgehog and rabbit. Interested to read this when you find it.
