BDSM Romance: BDSM is a type of adult roleplay between two or more individuals. The compound acronym, BDSM, is derived from the terms bondage and discipline (B&D), dominance and submission (D&S), and sadism and masochism (S&M).

There are so many shelves and lists .

BDSM on Goodreads
Listopia

Note: There are two SGOMs for the month of October . The other one is Frontier Romance / Americana Romance / Mail-Order-Bride Romance.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I'm in for this one too! I wasn't expecting two SGOMs this month! I'll be reading Roped (Purgatory Club, #1) by Eliza Gayle , Wrapped Around Your Finger (Bound to You, #1) by Fallon Blake , and Hitched (Heart of the West, #2) by Ann Jacobs for sure, adding in Lassoed (Heart of the West, #3) by Ann Jacobs if I get a chance.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, the two SGoM stayed tied though-out the month, so a couple of us Mods changed our votes... and then thought, "Why not have two, for a change?"

message 7: by Silvia (new)

Silvia So if I'm understanding this correctly, are we suppsed to pick a book from one of these SGOM groups and then post on this thread what we think of the book?

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments You can do both SGoM, if you like, Silvia. Up to you. We usually only have one.

Do you have that expression in Australia, ShoSho? When people say things at the same time? (Owe me a coke!)

message 19: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments Yep I'd heard that before and I've heard many different versions . In Iran they pull the other person's hair if you say the same thing at the same time . I don't know why !

That sounds painful :0(

I'm not much of a BDSM fan although I did just read Start Me Up (Tumble Creek, #2) by Victoria Dahl , which is very light BDSM and it was pretty good.

If anyone has recommendations for light (and I mean very light) books, I'll see if I can fit one in. Otherwise, I'll stick to the other SGOM.

I've read #2 in that series, it's one of the best book I've ever read. Natural Law (Nature of Desire, #2) by Joey W. Hill

message 29: by Silvia (new)

Silvia So far I'm loving Joey W Hill.

message 30: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments I usually avoid books tagged as BDSM, but found a couple that look good on www.allromanceebooks.com.

I haven't tried Joey W. Hill yet, and am leery of Ellora's Cave as a publisher right now after hearing that some authors have not been paid appropriately and they have engaged in a lawsuit to shut up a romance review blogger who posted about problems. However, I may go for a freebie, or check to see if I already own one of hers.

Yes, very sad. Awful, really.

message 32: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments I think I found something I can read for this (and it fits some other challenges which is a bonus). Like some others have mentioned, I'm pretty light on what I like on the BDSM scale. I'm good with the B, a little bit of the D and not much on the SM.

I was going to try Joey Hill because I always hear good things but then the whole EC thing hit the fan. I'm a fan of the DA blog so I really don't want to give them money right now.

But then I found Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning on one of the lists. Doesn't seem too heavy, has good reviews in general, not an EC book and I picked it up as a freebie at some point. So, looks like I'm in for this one too.

Karen, Backstage Pass is a favorite of mine! The author has two other series, both of which center around rock bands, though her Exodus End series isn't released yet. If you continue on with the Sinners, be aware that they were published out of order, and what is listed as book three really isn't book three, but book five.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I finished my first read for the month today: Wrapped Around Your Finger. It was actually very good! It took a complete novice and introduced her very gently into the BDSM scene. It was short, but didn't feel that you were missing anything from it. I want to find more by this author!

It actually really was, Gigi! If I was buying it now, I'd hesitate, due to the Ellora's Cave Lawsuit nonsense that's going on right now, but I had bought it prior to learning of that.

I also found out there is a sequel to it, but it is priced at over $7, and I don't like spending that much for a Kindle book, so because of the lawsuit and outrageous price, I'm holding off on it for now.
