ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I'm about 55% Silver Lining by Maggie Osborne . I didn't know anything about it other than it would match this sun-genre .I don't read blurbs so everything that happened was unexpected to me and I can't stop reading .

Valorie | 676 comments I read The Officer and the Bostoner (Fort Gibson Officers, #1) by Rose Gordon and really enjoyed it. It was a cute story, and the main female character wasn't whiny or whimpy :)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That sounds like a nice change of pace, Valorie.

Valorie | 676 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "That sounds like a nice change of pace, Valorie."

It was. I've found that, sometimes the historical romances I read have whimpy females, so this genre is kinda hit or miss for me. I guess I got lucky this time!

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments I didn't get to post but I finished A Chance at Love by Beverly Jenkins earlier this week and I just loved it.

Don't just by the cover, Beverly Jenkins writes wonderful characters and interesting slices of African American (and American) history. In this case lady gambler meets honorable farmer when his orphaned nieces decide she should be their new mama. The kids are adorable, Loreli is strong & funny and Jake is honorable and loving. Awesome.
