Goodreads updated their iOS app

GR's message re: Android/Windows users:

For our Android-loving members, we promise that we have not forgotten you! The team is working on an update. We know it’s been a long wait, so thank you for your patience. It’s coming!

I have the iOS version and I like some things, but dislike others. Typical, it seems. I use the app quite often while out and about away from my computer.

I like ...
... how we can now see the book cover vs. only a link to books friends reading (updates page)
... the "currently reading" display at the top of "my books" along with the %/pg status bar
... additional/new ways to sort books
... book page has more detail

I don't like ...
... that it lands right on the updates page instead of a general "home" page, like the previous version (old version home pg visually more appealing to me as well)
... that 'likes' are still not showing up

In general, I like the new app. It took a while for the updates to show up because of a bug but GR have fixed that already.

I also don't like the fact that it opens on the Updates rather than the home screen. It means I have to click "more" to go to the notifications icon rather than just seeing it on the home page :0(

That's the same issue I have with it, Lauren. I'm sure I'll get used to it this way, but I definitely prefer it the other way.
