15.1 - Groovy, Man
The Woodstock Music & Art Fair was a music festival held on a dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Thirty-two acts performed during the weekend in front of nearly half a million concertgoers.

Choose a day from the List of performances and events at Woodstock Festival:
Day 1 - Friday, August 15 to Saturday, August 16
Day 2 - Saturday, August 16 to Sunday, August 17
Day 3 - Sunday, August 17 to Monday, August 18

Required: State the day you picked when you post.

Read 2 books, one Book 1 and one Book 2.

Book 1: Read a book written by a single author who shares a name with one of the musical artists who performed on the day you picked. Names must match exactly but may be in any position (first, middle, last). If the artist uses initials, such as R.G. Carlyle (Day 1, Sweetwater), the author must use the same set of initials on Goodreads (ex: R.G. Grant).
Required: State the matching name when you post.

Book 2: Read a book with a word in the title/subtitle that matches a word** in one of the songs played on the day you chose. Words must match exactly. **These words may NOT be used: a, an, and (&), the, to

The artist name and song title must come from the SAME day. The song chosen may be played by the artist picked, but does not have to be.
Required: State the song title when you post.
Example:
Day picked: Day 2
Book 1: All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
❆ author's last name (Grace) matches Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane ❆

Book 2: Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
❆ Heart found in "Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin and the Kozmic Blues Band ❆

Hi - for Book 1, may we utilize an author's pseudonym to match an artist?

i.e. matching the used pseudonym "Richard Stark" to an artist rather than the author's real name of Donald Westlake.

The default rule is that the name recorded on the Goodreads book page will be used. So if Richard Stark is the author listed on the book's Goodreads page, then the book would work (assuming you're trying to match Richard or Stark). If the author is listed as Donald Westlake then the book won't work.

Inge (Inge1990) | 408 comments Hi,

I found that there is an Albert in Sweetwater, so would it work to read a book by Melissa Albert for book 1?

Yes, the names can be in any position (first, middle, last). So Melissa Albert is a match for Albert Moore of Sweetwater.

ChrisP Poyner The days on the wiki page show Sunday/Monday

Does it need to be specifically Sunday or Monday
If so day changes at midnight?

No, we're using the days as set out in the Wiki contents so days are:
1 Friday, August 15 to Saturday, August 16
2 Saturday, August 16 to Sunday, August 17
3 Sunday, August 17 to Monday, August 18

Good question, though, I'll clarify in the task description.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Just want to clarify re artist:

For example on Friday Aug15 - to Saturday Aug 16 we have

RICHIE HAVENS
- Richie Haven - guitar, vocals
- Paul "Deano" Williams – guitar, vocals
- Daniel Ben Zebulon – congas

Could could I use author Daniel Silva to match the Daniel who is playing congas?

Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 1261 comments Sanity check for Day 3, please...

Best Murder in Show by Debbie Young, to go along with Neil Young of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (3-4am)

The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie, using "in" that shows up in numerous places, including Blood, Sweat & Tears' song 6 "Sometimes in Winter" (1:30-2:30am)
