A girl/woman who discovers she has powers that glow purple, she meets a man who's own powers glow blue. An enchantress gives her a stone/gem necklace so she doesn't fall pregnant. I think there is also a cat she befriend whom she can speak with & he can speak to anyone ,only if he choses, though I might be confusing two books. I read the book in 2003, want the book, as I also want the others in the series. Think there are 3 or 4, can't remember .
