Ron Leonard | 1 comments My book out this month is, "Discerning Truth in a World Filled with Lies". I'm still struggling for a category for it and "Applied Philosophy" may be as good as any other. It involves more of the logic branch of philosophy. It draws on my various life experiences of being lied to and my present profession as a Christian therapist. This involves using a large number of strategies in sorting out the truth from the conscious and unconscious lies of the client, general ignorance, organic effects, and the contribution of my own error due to unclear thinking. The book uses whatever is useful and whatever works in reaching this end.

Ron, your undertaking sounds very interesting and courageous to me. We live in a world that is so often more shaped by lies than by the truth. Of course, some people - especially philosophically inclined people - may say that truth is subjective. I would acknowledge that there is something like a subjective truth to some extent. But I regard it as a huge error to conclude that everything is relative and that there is no truth at all. How do you see these matters?

We might have an interesting discussion with Awdhesh who recently posted a radically relativistic view in my "Describe your philosophy in 300 words or less" column in the Philosophy group. He is also an author. I am going to invite him to join here.

In any event, please tell us more about your philosophy. You can use this group as a platform to let people know as much about your book as you'd like and to communicate with interested parties.
