Petra is a hard name to find as well. I once read All This Belongs to Me: A Novel by Petra Hůlová because of the author's name. I really liked the book and was glad I found it. The first time I read my name in print was in 7th grade when I read The Chrysalids. I remember being thrilled and very surprised. LOL!
This sounds fun! I found a book called Olivia by Dorothy Strachey, which says in the description that it's one of the most subtle and beautifully written lesbian novels of the century. Should be interesting! Maybe it's part of the reason why Olivia.com is a lesbian cruise site haha.

Petra by Fabio Bourbon
Petra by Maria Krüger
and others... of course, they might all be hard to find or terrible books!
The funny thing is I looked thinking I would find some which really were referring the historical "Rose City" of Jordan named Petra! Perhaps those I listed are - I didn't check...
Laura, thank you! I didn't always think it was a nice name (it was too "different" around here & as a kid, I always got teased for my name) but I like it now. LOL! I just had to look:
The first is set in Petra but might be interesting. It has possibilities.
The second is about Petra, Jordan.
The third is only in Polish, so I can't figure out what it's about.
Petra wrote: "The third is only in Polish, so I can't figure out what it's about. "It tells the story of your entire life, from beginning to end. But in Polish.

My name was popular around the time I was born -- several others in my elementary school class, although some of them were spelled Lesley. I would rather be unique than one of a crowd ;)

I do agree; but for kids it can be a problem sometimes to be the "odd one out"

k-ann wrote: "Is there a book with Kaye in the title?"The book The Far Pavilions by M. M. Kaye is seriously one of my favorite books of all time... should definitely give that a shot.
