Liz (liz_the_librarian) We'll go back to our typical weekly thread here since it's been awhile since I've simply asked what everyone is reading.

I've been on a long-book kick as of late. I just picked up The Wise Man's Fear. For long-winded fantasy, this series is fantastic. I was leery at first because the books are so long and dense, but the narrative just makes me want to keep reading and reading.

I also just started Outlander because it's been on my list forever. Plus, I've been listening to shorter audiobooks as of late, so I figured it's time to get into a long one. We'll see how long it takes me to get through 33 hours of narration...

I'm also working on picking next year's challenges, so if you have any ideas, please visit that thread and leave your suggestions. There are some really great ones so far; if you like one you see, let me know so I'll be more likely to include it next year.

The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments Currently, I am reading a book called The Captain's Daugher by Leah Fleming, about two women from very different social sphere's who meet and become close friends after surviving the sinking of the Titanic.
I am also listening to Origin in Death by J.D. Robb, which is one of the better mysteries in an awesome series. Not sure what to read next, so we'll see. Maybe another Charles Todd, or the newest Rhys Bowen.

The Captain's Daughter by Leah Fleming Origin in Death (In Death, #21) by J.D. Robb A Fearsome Doubt (Inspector Ian Rutledge, #6) by Charles Todd Queen of Hearts (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #8) by Rhys Bowen

Liz (liz_the_librarian) Pattie, Robopocalypse was great! I read it a couple years ago, and there is now a sequel out. I'm waiting for the library to get it so I can read it.

I've always heard good things about The House of the Scorpion. How is it? The Ear, the Eye and the Arm was one of my favorite books as a kid.

Pattie Babbitt Just finished it today. I really liked it at first, but then it tuckered out toward the end. Good enough ending to make me want to read the sequel that recently came out though.
