Medieval romance, novella ,part of a series, read in an anthology [s]

I remember this novella I read 3-4 years ago but I can't remember the name the book or author.
What I remember is this:
The hero arrives in a castle after being to war and being imprisoned in a dungeon for some years with some other knights. The heroine brother was one of the knights.
The Heroine is betrothed to the king(?) and they are there for the wedding. The hero falls in love with the girl. There is a sex scene near a lake or a pond. The knight gets wounded defending the king or the girl on the wedding day (?)and is unconscious for a few days . When he comes to he thinks the girl is married to the king but it turns out the king had married the girl to him by proxy .
I might have mixed up some of the detail with something else . Any ideas?
