Hello everyone,
This book *just* released today. I have the start date to be a week from now and will last about 25 days. I'm looking for some friends to work through this book with me. :)

Got my copy. Only suggestion I would have after last session is maybe a proposed reading schedule. Does not need to be cut in stone but may help keep conversations closely tied together.

May be others like me who work better with a "deadline" to limit procrastination

Bob: That's a really good idea. Would you like to take point on the discussions for this next book?

Let me take a quick skim through the book and I will let you know tomorrow evening. My work/travel schedule gives me fluctuating chunks of time for reading so I want to be sure I can set up something consistent

I’ll go ahead and start looking at some questions and a soft schedule. If I read earlier post looking Tom go from Aug 19-Sept 12.

Hey all
I would like to propose a "soft schedule" and maybe some questions in the begining of each section to prime the pump.

As for a schedule
Aug 19-24 Into thru Chpt 3
Aug 25-31 Chpt 4-8
Sep 1-7 Chpts 9-13
Sep 8-14 Chpts 14-18

This book is going to be a challenge for met. I can already tell the author is going to challenge my comfortable beliefs that I do not consider myself a racist. At times I can feel racist tendencies rise up but I say its based on behavior not race, color etc.

Remembering the group rules. Christian character matters. Nuff said.
Do you agree with his premise on page 7 where he says "What's the problem with being "not racist"? It is a claim that signifies neutrality. I am not a racist but neither am I aggressively against racism. But there is no neutrality in the racism struggle.

Then on page 18 he says there is no such thing as a nonracist or race-neutral policy.

I like it. Feel free to start the discussions early if you start reading it early. I'll be starting as soon as I finish the book I'm currently listening to. I'll probably start Monday.

I'm gonna move this question to a new discussion topic. Are you able to make new discussion topics. I think all members can. Maybe others can also check. I'll change a setting if I have something wrong.

Just make sure to put the topic under (1) the book and (2) under the "August - Antiracism" header.

Thanks for taking point for this Bob! I'm excited!!!

Bob: I made you the discussion leader for this book in the settings. That should help.

I think I got it this time. I was wondering how to move to a new topic.
