Hello, everyone. I'm looking for beta readers for my new short story, which is also the introduction to a new character for whom I'm starting an ongoing series. The story is not very long, just over 6,000 words, and it doesn't answer all of the questions it raises--because it was never meant to. No cliffhanger ending, though, just the promise of more story to come.
It's written in the 1st person, in case that matters. Without giving too much away, it involves: a landscaper, frogs, telepathy, an awakening, and a revelation of sorts.
If anyone wants to know more, feel free to ask! Thanks.
EDIT: I just checked the story, and I realized that the word count is a little higher than I remembered. It's closer to 8,000 words, so still not too long. Just wanted to correct that.
