Hi, Everyone! My name is Doug and I write young adult novels. Before writing books, I hammered away at screenplay after screenplay in hopes of getting a job in Hollywood. I even produced some short films locally. But then I switched to writing books and particularly fell in love with YA literature. As a writer, I think there's so much possibility inside YA for a wide-range of different types of stories, more so than many adult genres. I joined the group because I want to find out what books and subjects you guys like to read about. Plus, I'm a book fan just like many of you!

BTW, Courtney Summers rules! I'm so glad you guys are going to read CRACKED UP TO BE. Parker Fadley is a great character.

Hi! I'm Jenna (in my 30's) and I love reading, but often go back and forth between reading all the time and not reading at all. I love YA for a lot of reasons, but one main reason is they're easier for me to read (I have a learning disability when it comes to reading and sometimes if I read too much or the content is harder to process, lines become blurred and letters float around to make different words). I've found that if I'm in a book group, I read more.

I'm also a writer who's trying to get a feel for YA books before trying to write one myself.
