Edward | 2 comments Hi, my name is Edward Johns and I had my debut novel 'Murdo' published last year, as I've always wanted to be a writer and I thought "Life's too short!" and turned a bed time story for my daughter into a children's & young adults adventure/thriller story. I am 45 years old and live in Northern Ireland and would love to hear from anyboby about anything you want to discuss. If I can help or offer any advise then it will be my pleasure. Here's wishing you all a Merry Xmas and a happy new year and a great 2012.
EJ

Christine | 147 comments Jello! I am a recently YA lover who now reads mostly just that. I read all different kinds of YA (kind of still just sampling).

Hey, I'm Wednesday. Reading has been my passion since I was really young. I'm 19 and love reading YA fiction, especially paranormal romance. My favorite YA series is Vampire Academy, and I also love Unearthly by Cynthia Hand, anything by Ellen Hopkins, House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast, the Gemma Doyle series by Libba Bray, Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber, and so many others.

Aspiring YA author, father of seven wonderfully minded avid readers! What started out as a challenge to myself has turned in to a single self published book (for now). I would love to find YA authors and readers like "you!" to share in this new passion! My book is self published under the name Hades Revenge on an exclusive deal with Amazon until March 10th 2012.

message 1456: by Jen (new)

Jen (baynej) Hi everyone. My name is Jen, and I'm an avid reader. My librarian sister has gotten me hooked on YA books, and I have to say, they're a lot more unique and original by far than adult books! ;)

message 1457: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 20 comments Hi. My name is Rebecca, and I'm currently studying to be a YA librarian. I try to read as much as I can, and stay up to date with all the latest novels.

message 1458: by Raquelle (new)

Raquelle (quellebelle27) Hi! My name is Raquelle and I am a big time YA reader. I try to balance school work and reading, which is hard sometimes but I try my best. Of course, I would love to have more time to read, but you know how that goes...

message 1459: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm Rachel and I'm a college senior studying Creative Writing. When I'm done with school (holy cow May 2012!) I want to either try to work in children's publishing or apply for graduate school to be a YA librarian. (Any YA librarians, feel free to friend me!!!) I love YA and children's books.

Diana (dianacab) Hi everyone I'm Diana but please call me D(Diana sounds like I'm too old.)
I'm thirteen and a New yorker! I love reading a lot which is why I made this account. I would like to um make friends, gather experiences, talk about books, and discover new ones. I kind of want to better myself...you know?

message 1462: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, everyone. My name is Ace, and I'm slightly addicted to reading. My husband says I should notice that it's become a problem when I pull out my phone to read while he's pumping gas at the convenience store, but I just say, "If I don't read, it's like wasted time."

Young adult is my favorite genre, though I'll be twenty-six this coming July. I enjoy living vicariously through the characters (which is why I can get really annoyed with stupid, inconsiderate, self-absorbed characters).

I live in a town where people don't generally read, so I'm really looking forward to discussing books with other like-minded individuals :).

Mary (knoxdiver) Hello, everyone! *waves* I'm Mary. I'm 23 and a senior English major at Middle Tennessee State U. I'm an avid sports fan and music lover. However, reading is my favorite hobby. I'm in the process of starting my own book blog and I'm working on my degree so I can go into a career in publishing. I'm obviously a big fan of YA, but I dip into both the independent reader and adult fiction pools depending on my fancy. I'm a lover of JK Rowling, Richelle Mead, Cassie Clare, Jen Echols, Meg Cabot, Ally Carter, and many, many others. I love book recs and I'd love to share mine as well. Shoot me a message!

message 1493: by Amber (new)

Amber (panduhbear) | 2 comments Hello, my name is Amber and I love to read. I'm 19 years old and a second year English major because I love books. My goal is to get a master's degree in Library Science at the University of Ottawa. I've been reading since before I can remember. All I know is that when I was 3 I could read fluently. When I graduated kindergarten I cried because I hadn't finished reading all the books in the classroom yet. In primary school, I used to read textbooks for the thrill of words. One of my guilty pleasures is teen fiction and it's pretty much my go-to genre when I have some free time and get to choose my own novels. I'm so glad there are so many readers and writers in the world - there can NEVER be enough books!
