Hi everyone! My name is Ann, and this is the first group I've joined... and I think it'll be wonderfully fun to be a part of! I am 25, but continue to read YA novels often. If it weren't for this genre I would have never developed the passion I have for reading. (Thank you "The Giver"!) I'm excited to have stumbled upon this group on the 1st of the month so I'm not too behind in the group reading.

Gotcha, M:) Just can't resist capitalizing and writing in complete sentences and showing off, can you?

I'm 36 and I write YA novels. I don't think age is what matters. All you need is the love of a good story.
Hello HelloI'm Soraya,

This is my first goodreads group, and what better way to start than with a little(or maybe a lot) YA fiction.

hey, Patricia, Alyssa (times 2) and Soraya! Nice to see you and looking forward to catching up in discussions and comments.
Emerson said," A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesman and philosophers and divines." This doesn't apply when you're creating an alter-ego, M. Consistency is key.Welcome, Soraya! I look forward to getting to know you!
WOW WOW WOW so many new members! I love having people here who are from all different walks of life. Welcome to our group!
Hey everyone! My name is Lucia and I'm from Panama. I'm only sixteen but I consider myself and avid reader. I don't have any friends here in GR so if anybody interested, message me!:D
Hi!My name is Sindre, I'm from norway and really loves books, but prefer english books. I love acting and singing mostly and reads when I have time.
Hello fellow bookworms :) My name is Allison and I'm a sophomore in high school in NYC who has been actively reading young adult fiction since I was in 7th grade. The first book that really got me hooked was The Clique by Lisi Harrison. My taste in books widely range from Diary of a Wimpy Kid to suspenseful adult fiction but I always go back to my beloved YA fiction. I've already read this month's book Incarceron so I'm glad to finally have a place to voice my opinion and ask questions about it.

Hello everyone! I am Shannon and I am a 28 year old elementary music teacher. My passion for reading was re"kindled" (please pardon the pun" after I got my kindle. Now I can't put the stupid thing down! YA paranormal romance novels are my guilty pleasure. I look forward to participating in the book discussions when a book comes along that interests me! :)
My name is Schuyler, and I'm a YA bookaholic! Excited to find like-minded readers, and give/receive book recommendations.Currently, I volunteer off and on in a small, one-room library in a subsidized housing unit. Would love to get some good middle grade books in this collection.
Happy to meet other bookies!
Hey everyone I'm Michelle, I'm 17 and I live in a small town in Massachusetts, I am joining this group because my mother won't let me join her neighborhood book club and I love to read:P
Hi :) I'm Danielle. I'm sixteen and I currently live in Newfoundland, Canada. I love to read, I just find it's hard to fit in the time for a good read after work and school, and I also like the idea of reading a certain book in a certain period of time, because I'm really good with deadlines. Very happy to meet you all. Message me anytime. I'm always happy to strike up conversations with others, especially other book lovers :)
Hey, my name is Claire and I'm a self confessed bibliophile. I think I've probably driven my mother insane with my insaitable need to fill more and more bookshelves with new shiny books. What sucks is that most of the YA books I read are kind of generic and don't wow me, yet I have a non-stop addiction to read more and more of it. In my defense, some of the books in this genre really do shine for me, and are my all time favourites.
Hi, everyone. I'm Amanda. I love YA fiction, historical fiction, fantasy and some sci-fi. I'm the Patron Services Supervisor at a public library in northern NY. I talk about books all day, and here I am joining a group to start more book conversations! I must have a problem :)
Hey, my name is Ally and I love to read. Some of my favorites include Eragon, Twilight, Harry Potter, etc. I am currently reading Rampant, by Dianna Peterfreund. I love talking about books as an ice breaker, and get very sad when people tell me they hate reading. I have tried a YA bookclub before, and I didn't like the people much. I have a good feeling about you guys though. :)
Hello everyone! My name is Shelley Daugherty and I am a librarian at a junior high school. I am also working on my Masters in Library and Information Science with a K-12 Teaching Certificate via the University of Illinois. I love reading YA fiction and I thought this would be a great group to join so that I could read other reviews about the books we have in our collection (I can't read them all!). I love everyone's honesty about their real feelings on the books that they have read and I look forward to being an active member of the group!
Welcome everyone. It is so good to have all these new members to the group. I hope you will join in on our book of the month discussions!
Hi i'm Ally. I live in Toronto Ontario and am a fifteen year old girl who goes to an over populated high school. I've got an nose peircing with a hoop in it and im really shy. I'm a bookworm and proud, and if i dont have a book with me then something is wrong. I read all sorts of different novels so dont ask me to pick one genre it is impossible! I have a wide range of favourite books from Harry Potter to The Notebook, but i mostly read YA books. I'm also a writer (or so i like to think) and i'd love to be an author when i grow up. My Major role models are Laurie Halse Anderson, Nina LaCour, Ned Vizini and many more. I'm pron to read too many books at once put i eventually get through them all. I like to buy my books not borrow them from the library cause i have a bad habbit of dog earing them and highlighting my favourite parts an quotes. I re-read alot of my books because i read really fast and sometimes i miss little things.
All in all i love to read and i'm glad they made a group dedicated to book lovers.
Hey there! I'm Tarryn Gilmore, an 18 year old Arizonian. Senior year of high school has taken away from a lot of time I used to spend reading but I'm determined to keep up. I adore books so much. I own probably close to a combined 1,000 books. I'm like a little library and most people I know realize that if they hear of a book that sounds interesting to them, I'll probably have it for them to borrow!I'm currently reading Need by Carrie Jones for the third time. I have this thing about series' tha I like where I have to reread all of them whenever a new book comes out. You should have seen me when the last Princess Diaries book was released! I tend to read a lot of young adult romantic comedies and young adult paranormal romances but I can read almost anything.
Aside from reading I watch waaaay too much tv (Vampire Diaries, Bones, True Blood, Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, etc)and love to write. I dabble in art but I'm not good at all! I can be pretty random as well. I'm fairly nice and easy to talk to and am looking forward to hopefully talking to other members and discussing books and such! :)
Just saying hello. Find that many of my favourite books fall in the YA and teen group even though I am ahem... a little past that age. I am also a YA writer.
Hey ;],My name is Patricia and I'm 23. I'm glad to see that age doesn't really matter in this group. I just joined Goodreads and immediately tried to find YA groups, hah ;]. If any of you want to be friends on here, just add away. No one I talk to irl even reads books, so I figured this site was good to join ;]. I'm from Indiana...Ive read hundreds of books, but right now I'm too lazy to add them to my profile, so dont let the emptiness defer you ;o
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am an aspiring YA writer. I am also a mom of two teens and the teacher of "almost" tweens. My current wip is a YA Regency-set historical w/a light touch of romance. Regency-set romances are extremely popular in the adult world. I've found less than a handful of YA's set in this time period, and I do believe the time has come. I am also a webmaster (www.effectiveteachingsolutions.com), blogger, tweeter, and writer of educational materials. I'm a busy gal, but I made a point to read a ton of YA's in 2010, and plan to continue my reading trends in 2011. I tend to read historicals, but I've stretched myself quite a bit. I loved Hunger Games and Graceling, and the two strong female protagonists these books gave to the world. I recently finished I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend by Cora Harrison. It's a wonderful introduction into Austen's world (my favorite place to spend my reading time). When I read, I read as both a reader and a writer. I like to think about what the author's did well (and how), and then try to learn as a writer from these wonderful mentor texts. I'm new to Goodreads, but I'm excited about finding a place to talk about and share books with other interested readers and writers.
Hi everyone! My name is Sara and I am a 23 and inlove with this genre. I'm pretty excited about this group.
Hello, everyone! I'm Victoria, and I've just joined Goodreads. YA is basically the only genre I'll read. Makes sense for me to join a YA group.I absolutely love to read! I love to tell people about my new discoveries, and I really want to hear a lot from people!
Hello everyone!I'm Liz. YA is my favorite genre. I recently started a blog for YA books. My goal is to help people find their next book to read. I'm constantly using goodreads to keep up to date on upcoming books. Please stop by and check out my blog. New followers are welcome! =]

Hello there. :)I'm Rollie, a 21-year old book fanatic from Philippines. I'm really interested in YA novels. I don't have any logical reason why I love reading despite the fact that I'm an engineering student. Yes, I should solve some math problems than read literary books. But what should I do if reading is part of my life? Or more like, my life. I really want to have recommendations and buddy who're into some action packed YA novels. :)

Hi there, I'm a 23-year-old book fanatic and I only just joined Goodreads. I'm pretty excited about this group, since I've recently gotten into English YA fiction and I'd love to get some good recommedations.I have lots of favorite books, but one that definitely stands out is "I am the messenger" by Markus Zusak.
I've you guys haven't read that yet, you really should! ;-)
Hoping for some good discussions,
Lizzie
Welcome... so glad to see new faces. I love to join in book club reads on goodreads so for those who are new I know you will love it!
Hey, I'm Chantal. I'm 20 years old, and a mother-to-be. YA is my favorite genre, and I highly doubt that'll change no matter how old I get. :)
I'm Erin. I'm 13 and live in Georgia. All I read is YA, mainly fantasy or paranormal, but I like sci fi too.
Hey everyone,
I'm Val, I run Truth Be Told, a blog. I am just now getting the hang of this site so I'm going to try and pop in for the discussions and also read the books with everyone on here.
I'm 21, a full time college student, and a mom. I'm a christian and a writer.
I love music and coffee!
Great to "meet" all of you!

I'm Rachel. My favourite pastime as a small child was to take all the books off the shelves, until my parents relocated them out of my reach. I learned to read when I was three, and in kindergarten I never understood why the teacher would read us picture books when we were perfectly capable of reading chapter books on our own. Due to the inconvenience and poor quality of the libraries in my area, I have to buy almost all my books, and am quite impoverished as a result. I am now 15, and love books more than ever!
I'm Maggie. I'm studying psych in school, and spend most of my time when I'm not in school working at a bookstore. I didn't find a love of YA until I was close to the ends of my teens, but I've been doing serious catching up since. I follow www.foreveryoungadult.com religiously. I adore Sarah Dessen, John Green, Maureen Johnson, Jenny Han, and Scott Westerfeld. Some of my favorites are The Hunger Games series, Looking For Alaska, The Truth About Forever, Jellicoe Road, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, and The Noughts and Crosses series.I'm excited to get exposure to authors I don't know about, and get input on the things I haven't made it to just quite yet.
