Hi. I'm Sydney and I'm a bookaholic. Anyways! I love to read. Looking forward to doing discussions and what-not with you guys.
Bonjour! Je m'appelle Hannah. I am an aspiring YA writer. As a young adult myself I like to read about real life fiction and fantasy fiction.I'm quite young, so if you have any feedback or tips go to http://fictionpress.com/~harriotisabe...
It's not yet updated but feel free to check up soon!
Hi, You can call me Tiffany. I'm 18 and will be 19 in October. I live in Florida. I love reading. My grandmother was the one that showed me the wonderful creation of books. Everytime she went shopping and saw a book she thought I might like she got, so by the next time she saw me she had a big stack of books for me to read. She died in a car crash in October of 2005. Unfortunately no one else in my family loves books and so doesn't understand or sometimes even appreciate my love of books. That is why i'm here. To talk to people that do love books. YA is one of my favorite genres.
Hi my name is Becky and I have recently rekindled my love of reading and have found that I enjoy reading YA books the most. My to-read list covers alot of different subjects from vampires to world end. I love any suggestions of interesting books...so if you have any or have a chance to look at my to - read list...send the suggestions my way
I just went back a couple pages and realized I never introduced myself.I am a mom to two young boys. I started reading on a regular basis again about 2 years ago when I started the book Twilight. After that series I moved on to the Mortal Instruments,Uglies,House of night and Vampire Academy to name just a few.
I actually have been so into reading the past while that all my other hobbies have been abbandonded. Sad, I know.
Hey, this is Gabrielle! I'm from England (don't know if most of you are from America, or what?) but, we all have something in common! We LOVE reading! Today, I bought 9 books at once from a book shop! OMG, I cant WAIT to read them all!!! So, what do you all like reading? (oh, btw.... to Marcie, I will say, I have recently read Storm Glass by Maria Snyder. A bit slow at the beginning, I think, but the prospective widens out later. Ohhh, I also read Radiant Shadows, by Melissa Marr, and I loved it! Best book ever!)
Hi everyone! Im booklover (which is not my real name, believe it or not). I am 14 years old and live in Adelaide, South Australia. I love reading! My favorite books are:
CHAOS WALKING TRILOGY
INKHEART
EVERLOST & EVERILD
HARRY POTTER
and SECRETS OF THE IMMORTAL NICHOLAS FLAMMEL.
I am currently reading The Necromancer by Michael Scott
I am currently working on an urban fantasy/mystery/adventure/action book, with a hint of romance thrown in.
Hello, my name is Ezzy Languzzi. Like the rest of you, I am my happiest when I have a book in my hand. I'll read in any genre but particularly enjoy YA literature. A first for me a few months ago was reading Ellen Hopkins' CRANK written entirely in verse. I was intimidated when I started but kept an open mind and found myself in a trance by the time I got to the end. A couple of my recent favorites include GOOD FORTUNE by Noni Carter and SWOON by Nina Malkin. Looking forward to exchanging and sharing thoughts with everybody! Oh yeah, and I'm forty-two going on eighteen. ; D
Hi -My name is Patsy and my cousin Michelle connected me with this group. I am the library teacher at a Middle/High School in MA, and also coordinate book groups. This summer, we're meeting and talking about Eclipse the movie vs. the book (of course!) I'm also reading the "Dragon Tattoo" trilogy and finding it interesting. (You have to get through the first 200 pages to get into the book, though!)
Thanks!
I am an English to Speakers of Other Languages teacher for middle school. I love to discover great books I can share with my students.
Heya, again everyone, what are your fave books....any recommendations for a 13 year-old English book lover who has read E-V-E-R-Y book possibly related to the Twilight Saga (and other books by Stephenie Meyer)? Hint: I have read "The Splendour Falls" by Rosemarie Clement-Moore, and was simply delighted by the result! I'd never thought by the blurb of the book that it was going to be something I found amusing! It looked to me like a stereotype love story! Whoa, was I wrong! It was brill! I loved "Unwind" by Neal Shusterman, and "The Declaration" by Gemma Malley and "A Great and Terrible Beauty" by Libba Bray. From reading all the other comments, I can tell lots of you love Libba Bray, too. So seeking recommendations should be easy, right? PLEASE comment! I've only eight more books left! That'll only last me a week! (joke, though I'm not far off!)
Welcome everyone! Wow so many new members. I hope to get to know more of you in the monthly book discussions!
I am a recent graduate of Ohio University in Middle Childhood Education excited to get into the field of teaching to make a difference. Spend my time in my small home town, working at a department store and reading. Looking to find great book recommendations I can someday use in my own classroom.
I'm Sally Lopez of Jamestown, NC, though originally from the Seattle area. I'm a mom of 2 young boys, and I plan to homeschool them. I like YA books a lot, especially coming-of-age stories about young women. I am mostly interested in YA books about young people who DON'T GO TO SCHOOL (rare, I know). Some YA books I have enjoyed recently are Margaret Peterson Haddix's Shadow Children series, "The Saskiad" by Brian Hall, and Orson Scott Card's Ender and Alvin Maker series. One reason I like YA so much is because Card writes such great reviews of YA fiction on his blog, so I know what to read next.
Hi Everyone,My name is John Cicero and I am a fantasy / adventure author. My passion for writing is driven from the joy I receive from reading my stories to my children.
Watching the expressions on their face as I take them on a journey through the magical pages of my imagination is what drives me to find the time to write.
My recently released novels are in the Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy. They are Rainbow’s Shadow and the Tablets of Fate and Rainbow’s Shadow and the Covenant of Wisdom.
As a passionate writer in Northeast, Ohio I have been fortunate to hit the Best Sellers list with 'Tablets of Fate' and am on track currently with the 'Covenant of Wisdom'.
The final novel in my trilogy is Rainbow’s Shadow and the Other Side of Paradise which is currently in development.
If you have a moment check out my website and my Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy today at... www.RainbowsShadow.com
Take care, John
Hello! My name is Christina, and i enjoy reading fiction of all sorts. I am not a fan of nonfiction, but i have read some pretty good titles in that genre. Sadly, i don't really consider myself flexible when it comes to genres. I really will try to read all of the assigned books despite a lack of interest!
Hello! My name is Jessica-Robyn, I'm sixteen years old and a obsessive bookworm. I'm relatively new to discussing books in an online setting but I'm excited to try reading along with some of the group books and sharing with other YA readers! I can't wait to get started in August.
Hi, my name is Celine Parker and one of the things i love to do is READ! I read children's, young adult, and adult books and do reviews for http://celineparkerreviews.blogspot.com/ along with three other people. I am twenty-two years old and would write if I had more time. For now, I'm focused on my blog and book reviews.
Hello,My name is Yvette. I work in the children's department in the Royal Palm Beach Library. I love to read all types of juvenile literature but mostly young adult. I am currently reading Fallen by Lauren Kate and hope to see it as one of the books to read and discuss. Love the fanatsy and paranormal genre of books for teens right now. Excited to be here!
Hello, My name is Amber Lehman and I love to read and review books! Especially YA books. I’ve been writing ever since a 4th grade project had us make our own books. I loved it so much that I continued to make them at home. My first real attempt at writing a novel began in my early twenties and took me 5 years to write because I was caring for my grandmother at the time. It was another 9 years before I decided to publish my YA novel called TORN. It is a GLBT book and deals with the subject of discovering your sexuality. I feel very fortunate that it has won the 2010 Next Generation Book Awards in the GLBT category, and that it was a Finalist in the Lambda Literary Awards. I am currently working on a sequel to TORN. Hopefully, this book won’t take 5 years to write! ;) Please drop by on Goodreads to say hello! I love to make new friends. If you would like to learn more about me you can always visit my website at: http://www.closetcasepress.com. Cheers!Amber :)
Well, I introduced myself in the Sci-fi/Fantasy club, so I might as well do the same here, yes?To keep it short and simple; a 20 year old from the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I hate unhappy endings, love anything that makes me laugh, and am currently in the middle of an immensely embarrassing (but horribly satisfying) Nora Roberts reading marathon.
You ask why, I ask WHY NOT.
Hi, I'm Savannah :) I love reading and writing stories. TOTALLY in love with YA fiction...usually paranormal fiction and dystopian fiction. Anyways, I just love books! lol
In advance of the release of the next installment in my YA fantasy series Allon-Insurrection, I was interviewed by Kathy Harris.

Hello... My name is Gloria and I'm 16 years old. I live in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. I'm a bookworm, books are my obsession. I read almost all the genres of books, but I really love young-adult fiction. Now I'm reading "Pretty Little Liars" series by Sara Shepard, one my favorite YA series are Harry Potter, Vampire Academy, Percy Jackson and The Olympians, Chronicles of Narnia and many more! That's about me for now, if you'd like to ask me something I'll be happy to answer your questions :) P.S. and i L-O-V-E this group :)))
Hi, I'm new here! I love to read, especially YA books. There's something powerful in the message that teens can save the world, have adventures, create something marvelous. It's my belief in that message that makes me love YA.
Hi! Nora and I (Em) are both in our early 30s. We met just over a year ago when my fiancee realized that this woman who went to college with him (Nora) was living in the area again. We bonded over vegan food and talking about YA fiction and became good friends. This year we decided to finally start a YA Lit book blog together (http://LoveYALit.com). Very fun. As a result, I almost exclusively read YA lit now. We're both also aspiring librarians. Nora is getting her M.S.I.S. and school media certification. I am also planning to go that route but in the meantime, I work as a youth services coordinator for a library.
We both have individual favorite books of course, but a few that we agree on (that are in our top ten of all time) are Harry Potter Boxset, The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset, and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
Look forward to reading and discussing with you all!
My name is Mariam. I'm fifteen years old and I live in the UAE. I am Somali American. I love books. My favorite of all time is the Harry Potter series. I read everything from crime to sci-fi to romance to fantasy. :) I just finished reading Mockingjay (Hunger Games #3) and I'm starting The Time Traveler's Wife.
Hello! My name is Dayana and I come from Bulgaria. I live in Sofia and I am going to be 17 in the fall.I really enjoy reading and there is hardy a day when I don't read something. Unlike most young people in my country, I can say I am completely addicted to books! :D Unfortunately, nowadays less and less young people tend to read books. That's why I have just a couple of friends on Goodreads.
Anyway, I got a little distracted... :D I love to write. A couple of years ago (when I was helplessly in love) I used to write love poems, some of which, I dare say are very good. Recently I have been writing short stories only, because I don't seem to have a muse to write a good poem... :/
So, in conclusion - reading is such an addictive activity! It's probably the best way to escape your problems just for a while! :)
Hello, my name is Omaid. Am a ex-music freak. LOL.. Not much into it now. I recently discovered that I love reading books. And I always thought that reading novels was the last thing I'll ever have as a hobbie. But I guess I was totally wrong. I even have a book review blog now.

Hi, my name is Jen and I live in Colorado and love it here! I'm in my early 30s and finally accepted recently that I love reading YA fiction :). It's probably my favorite genre, and for so long I was embarrassed to admit it. I love to read and have a long "to-read" list!I downloaded the Sept book, Pretty Little Liars and I'm excited to read it and discuss. Hopefully I can finish before the end of the month (I'm in the middle of 2 other books).
