Hi everyone my name is Chela(Shay-la) and I'm 23 and I currently live in southern Maryland in a town so tiny its probably not on most maps so it would be pointless for me to list it. Anyway I love to read. My selections are sort of scattered far and wide I like to read anything or just about anything. I just recently got into young adult books since I read the twilight saga two years ago. I am a aspiring writer and for the last four years I have been working on a paranormal/ horror book I've titled The Absence Of Light. I can't wait to join the discussion board.

Thanks so much Shannon. Glad you like the title. I went over so many variations before deciding on that one. My 16 years old niece said if she saw the title on her reading list at school she wouldn't read it because it sound like chemistry. Yeah I know I' am just as confused about that one as you might be. Even though I was sixteen not so long ago I stopped trying to figure out the teenage mind. LOL.

Hi all:

My name is Jenny and I'm an author. I am looking for feedback, especially from teens, on my young adult fantasy novel, In the Shadow of the Dragon King. I would appreciate any and all comments as the novel is complete and now I just need to tweak it before sending it to agents. As my target market is teens and up, I really need to get an idea if this is going to fly with teens and new adults - ages 16 - 20. (of course, if it appeals to an older audience, that's even better! :-)

All comments are welcomed and encouraged. I'm not even sure if this is what this group discusses, and if it's not, then please accept my apologies for posting.

If it is, the first chapter is posted for reading and I would love to get your feedback.

I hope some of you would like to take a stab at the story. Don't be afraid to be completely honest. It is what I need at the moment.

It's by Michael Crichton. It was one of the first sci-fi books I ever read and I loved it. I don't want to give too much away incase you ever want to read it, but it's about a group a scientist who go to the bottom of the ocean to investigate a sunken spaceship. They made a movie out of the book, but it wasn't any good.
